As I mentioned above Iā€™ve already contacted a couple of trade unions.

You are completely right, we need to keep the ball rolling.

The RHA has campaigned on this in the past so perhaps they would be interested.
Other organisations with an interest in road safety may also be worth lobbying:
RoSPA, FTA, CILT, Professional Drivers Association, Association of British Drivers etc.

With enough publicity this petition could do well because itā€™s got wide appeal.
So by not rolling over quietly and putting up with the extortion of the present day,
we could all do just a little bit to bring the issue into the public eye which only costs
a few minutes of our time.

Itā€™s the same one.

Itā€™s up to 719 names now. Once itā€™s up to 1000 itā€™s only got another 99,000 to go before itā€™s debated in parliament.
But on a positve note, itā€™s got a year to run and the higher it gets up the list the more people take notice of it.
Iā€™ve done this before see. Tried to stop gatsos and failed. But I did manage to get mine onto the top page of the transport petitiions and itā€™s then it picked up speed. The easiest way to get this noticed, i reckon, is to inject the URL cleverly into the comments part of every remotely relevant internet news article by devising an excuse to mention it.
