Epetition for better facilities for lorry drivers

I’ve done it as well.

Done it and facebooked it.

Done , down here in pembrokeshire near the port of fishguard there is out line planning permission for a truckstop facilities for around 120 trucks, it is badly needed for the port, at the moment there is just laybys and a car park on the seafront where lots park but there’s not even a toilet there, this idea has been met by fierce opposition by some locals ,they don’t understand that it is freight that keeps the ferry route open for the use of the tourists, if freight drops they will have to review the route operations meaning either the loss of it or no tourist facilities on the ship ,meaning less passing trade for the town , the biggest worry people have is that then there will be a load of trucks on the road at the same time heading the two miles to the port , even though there is a bypass straight to it! And the mess lorry drivers will leave & possible. criminal gangs targeting the area for lorries… those of you that use the port will know there is a need for this facility urgently…

Maybe those residents should wonder how many people the Port employs, and what effect the closure of the ferry route would have to the wider community.
As for mess and crinimal activity around a truck park, well here’s some news, that mess and crinimal activity is more likely to happen without the lorry park :unamused:

Bloody NIMBY’s

Put a letter in your local paper explaining this you might get a good response. Also make the locals aware what would happen if trucks stopped visiting their area.

You could also post it on other forums too, lets get the word around…

500 had signed when i signed up

Signed mate. Did my first week driving back in the UK for about three years this week and had the pleasure of noisy layby’s and industrial estates again.

DONE! I’M GOING TO EMAIL THE LINK TO MATES, HOPING THEY’LL SIGN IT EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT DRIVERS.

Not the finest wording I’ve seen and could have been written a million times better, but the point about the lack of facilities and also not one mention of the ridiculous prices either have to be sorted out, worth signing.
