Comes in handy to know a bit of basic stuff for a languages as said before they will respect you for taking the time just to even learn a basic sentance or greeting.
I can’t be the only user of this forum who is genuinely embarrassed at the level of literacy of someone who claims to still be in an educational environment….

What is this meant to mean
bazfrombenidorm:
Flash to bang, wait for it.
Could someone enlighten me, is it national rile TNUK members week?
I think with that comment though you have to admit your certainly sailing close to the wind just a little bit .
So your saying, that just because the way someone types/spells uses grammar on an INTERNET FORUM it reflects their level of the education
Joshh to keep the spelling police happy , treat every post you write from now on as if they all form part of your final GCSE english grade
My posts in chronological order, just to be clear:

Calm down dear, surely I made a valid statement on a post where some posters are having a go a foreign drivers to the UK’s shores not speaking English? Pete, we’re not all perfect, just some are less perfect than others. You’re far too easy to wind up sometimes, which makes it hard for me not to post the comments that I do.
Pete, no offence was meant. I love to play devils advocate, dunno why, but I learnt from a master at it, my father. So I suppose I’m just keeping family tradition. I have noticed however, it is hard to translate derision in the written word without pointing it out, which to my mind rather spoils the fun, of sarcasm that is. Before someone else says it, yes I do know that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.
christianh:
dont forget guys that english is the most common spoken language in the world.
You mean “most widely geographicly spoken” i guess? So it may be almost equal with Spanish. But most people on the world speaks Chinese.
no i meant the most commonly spoken language lol but i had a suspicion it would be something like spanish, didnt think chinese but there you go.
still, i think in the EU english is the most common language, so what i posted still stands. immigrants working here have the option/ability to speak english whereas british immigrants usually do not have the option of speaking language.
im not saying that is right, im just making an observation relevant to someone’s point.
orys, the poles ive met usually try to get something out of most of the things they do. tell me, is your frequent relentess posting serving as practice for your english i.e. do you see these discussions as free english lessons lol■■?
Yes English is widely spoken but that does not mean that Britons shouldn’t take the time to learn other languages. When I was a warehouse pleb I often used to greet the Spanish drivers in Spanish, they seemed pleased I’d made the effort.
Pete-b generally if I’m having a private conversation I don’t conduct it by means of shouting across the warehouse and if I was rash enough to do such a thing then I wouldn’t complain that others can hear me. And I agree the chances of them talking about me are minimal but I wouldn’t know.
Orys we’ll agree to disagree because I’m tired of arguing about it.
I think the obvious answer is for me to follow my own suggestion and learn Polish, hence solving my problem.

I hope this clears things up…….
I still don’t get what your trying to apoint here?

Yeah, that’s what my Polish students are telling me. When they go to Poland they never have chance to practice their Polish as everyone wants to practice their English on them
But this has, as usual, two sides of the coins. There is very low amount of British people interesting in learning foreign languages, as they expect that everyone will speak English everywhere arround the world.

This discussions gives me three main things:
It’s an entertainment for me, as I like to discuss.
It’s helps me to understand your country, which I think is very important for someone who want to spend quite a few years here.
It helps with my English. Some of you are sending me some very good hints and correct my mistakes by PM, and I learned a lot from you just from speaking with you and it’s very good as it’s not only queen’s English but also just a folk-speech very often.
So that’s should answer your questions about me while I have also to agree that it’s common among Polish people to find something profitable for them in everything they do. I think it’s very good attitude which makes your life easier and more enjoyable.

Yeah, we agree on most things, only in extreme areas we differ

Obvioulsy yes, as most people will not agree with you (as we can see even from this discussion) so if you don’t want to be offended you better start to learn Polish, Czech, Latvian, Pakistani, Hindu, Italian and other languages straight now
OH Bugger I better learn to speak Spanish, going to Mexico in August And i don’t give a flying fish if this is gramaticly wrong or misspelt…I could go on but this thread is getting very silly
Josh, What made you think that I didn’t have a job? You may have noticed that I haven’t been on all week. That is because I was working. - Driving all week. So while you were delivering papers round your estate I was driving all over the United Kingdom and Ireland.
EnglishTrucker:
Presumably, when you and another driver go to Belgium and are in a waiting room full of Belgians, then you talk to each other in Flemish?
After all, the road signs are in Flemish.
Road signs cant be in “Flemish”, ‘Flemish’ refers to two specific dialects of Dutch alone, namely East and West Flemish
Languages of Belgium are :Belgian Dutch or French,
Dutch and Belgians speak the same language albeit with their own dialect but can freely converse with each other
