And that’s why the employer wants to get hold of the card when your off. Hang on, that sound familiar… Is there another situation where an employer keeps a vital legal document of a worker, to stop the worker from leaving?? Hmmmm :unamused:

Me being a bit thick i don’t understand the fuss, i have worked at some places with maybe 200 drivers where the trucks come into the yard and another driver gets in and they have to download each shift. At least twice a week someone would leave there card in the reader but i have never heard of anyone else using it or going out buying things on credit with one unlike some on here who think they are the same thing, it would just be taken out put to the side ready for the driver when next in.
Also carrying your card when not at work why would you need to, i have a card but stopped driving nearly 4 years ago and wouldn’t no where to find.

I wouldn’t leave my card with any employer, my card, my responsibility. To leave it with an employer is the height of irresponsibility in my book. But each to their own and all that.

I barely manage probation period :frowning:
