Well ■■■■ sorry to disappoint you, i drive with that much forward planning and perception everyday, day in day out. I suspect its numptys like you that cant plan ahead as you always seem to encounter the alleged bad drivers, or is it your such a prat that your the problem and get in everybodys way.
Rob the dog I’m sure your a very good driver and do drive at a high standard.
Robroy it’s nothing to do with lack of confidence it’s being humble enough to recognise that you’ve always got something to learn and looking to better yourself. Anyone who can’t see that is likely not as good driver as they think. The usual attitude of well I’ve passed my test and I’ve never crashed so obviously I’m the best driver in the world with nothing else I could possibly learn.
EVERY driver would benefit from an advanced police style course and would make the roads safer overnight. Truck drivers would find they had less to learn and pass the test with ease compared to the average car driver.

Straightish motorway you’ve obviously never driven the A60 at 140 mph + let alone 150 the A1 is fun too.
No I haven’t because that would be totally irresponsible and a complete danger to everbody around. I have however driven at higher speeds on race tracks which do have proper corners some being blind on approach. Most road drivers who brag about driving fast on the road turn out to be completely hopeless on a track.I suspect you would be one.
BTW the A60 and A1 are not motorways dopey.
You do know that I was referring to ze German version of the A60 and A1.Remind me what the letter A denotes.Their speed limit regime at least at that time obviously didn’t agree with your bs.
Where it’s been lowered since has more to do with Greens so called pollution issues than being scared of fast traffic on public roads.
Which race track will let you get anywhere close to 150 mph + other than maybe Goodwood or Oulton. The straights are too short and the bends are too tight.
My guess is you’ve never driven much over the ton and you wouldn’t last a mile among serious drivers on proper quick continental roads with a proper quick car.
While this type of driving was my day job within months of getting my HGV and couldn’t believe I actually got paid for it. youtube.com/watch?v=J0rgloeXfJM
I once knew a guy who seen plod comin full skelp in opposite direction so flashed a car out from t junction. Said car sideswiped the police into wall and he carried on his journey.
He said he saw the officers stumble out of car amd one was a female officer.
Edinburgh area.
If the police on here can recall such story id love to hear your thoughts on it.
How can a driver say they are a good driver etc if they have not had their driving checked for a very long time
I suppose they can THINK they are good but they cannot KNOW they are

it’s amazing how many I assessed that thought they were the bees knees yet had appallingly bad driving habits and my goodness the look of shock when they were told.

It’s more of a case of being a good ENOUGH driver than a good driver.
Nobody NEEDS to be a model perfect driver, as long as you think/know your standard is good enough, and your record vindicates this, then why and who do you actually need to prove it to?
Personally I could not give a toss if some full time instructor finds reason to criticise me, but when I find myself cocking up everyday doing damage, and being a right ■■■■ danger to others, then totting up licence points, then and only then I’ll maybe be arsed to try and win favour with them.

have always had akeen interest to drive to decent standard.
Oh absolutely me too. I take a huge pride in being a safe and conscientious driver…,
I’m so glad your driving is up to scratch because your video I saw was absolute rubbish. [emoji38]
High resolution video?
Could you see the position of Mr S Logic’s tongue?
It might have been lodged in a cheek…
ummm…his own cheek…ummm
.
.
I’ll throw that shovel away, shall I…
I’m sure I have seen these Police pursuit documentaries and the like,.where they have to ask permission over the radio to use their blues and twos.
Or have I dreamt that ? …I do have some very weird dreams sometimes btw.

They can use them at their own discretion obviously. The only rule is they musn’t be used unless it’s in response to an emergency call.
I can remember having some fun with the American Federal type yelp sirens and PA systems which we were fitting in many of our fire trucks in the 1970’s. When air two tones were all that domestic emergency services were using, so from memory they were legal to use just for a laugh.
I’m trying to remember the last time I heard bells being used.
I think it was later in the case of the fire service than police and ambulance ?.
Early 1970’s maybe when the two tones gradually took over on fire appliances.

And there lies the problem. The attitude I’ve done what, 30 hours training and passed a Learner test. I have no points on my licence. And I don’t go around crashing. The 3 added up mean obviously the best driver ever and could not benefit from any advanced driver training.

They don’t need permission to use blues and twos they need permission from a senior officer to engage in the pursuit of another vehicle or at least permission to continue it if they’ve started. The senior officer has to weigh up whether the pursuit puts too much risk To the public or not if it all goes ■■■■ up ie fleeing vehicle crashing due to being chased by police. Doesn’t look good in the papers does it if that happens. Then if they don’t pursue a vehicle the public have a go why didn’t the police do more instead of catching speeders. Can’t win.

How would I know? You did not say not that it makes any difference. Regarding tracks you obviously haven’t a clue. An awful lot depends on what you are driving or riding
and of course the ability of the driver. Road drivers new to tracks are generally useless to start with. They think they can drive at speed but alas they find they can’t.
It’s like most things you require plenty practice and plenty experience and most fail to exceed club level.
150+ is easily achievable at many tracks in the UK. Try Brands, Silverstone or Thruxton to name a few or if you want faster try Spa in Belgium.
Now go back to sleep and stop dreaming.
