Hi Jennie. Almost certainly in house training with test also in house by a delegated examiner. That’s how all the big bus companies work though, when they get behind, they will use the likes of us to play “catch up”.
Dean. All the best with it. You should have no problem at all. Pete
Yes Pete. You are correct. They have in house trainers and examiners.
I know you are gutted about not getting the course. I really did have intentions of taking the course with PSTT.
It’s just been a crap start to the year with work and this opportunity has arisen. I only lose a tenner a week for 2 years towards the training, uniform and buddy. Then they give you it back after the 2 years as a lump sum.
That is when I will do something like Hiab or ADR just to give me a few more skills under my belt and then give the LGV applications another go. Hopefully the job market will be a little better by then.
Thanks for the congrats and best wishes.
Good luck Jen with getting onto the Artic Trunk. I look forward to reading all about it soon

Sounds good Dean. I agree about the crap start to the year, only good run I had was taking a 7.5 ton Izuzu down to Highbridge and meeting you. Been to a job interview today and done some tests for a job at Gate Aviation, and just had a call from Consort Frozen Foods asking me to go there on Thursday for an assessment drive. Also joined another agency, the guy that runs it knows most of my family and might be able to sort out some tipper work for me. Things are looking up now, certainly makes a change from sleeping lots and staying up all night worrying about finances etc.
Are you ■■■■ ing me,a bloody bus driver you traitor you.
Well,I guess it’ll be good to hear about the job of the enemy but it’ll ruin you as a wagon driverist Dean as you’ll get stuck in that rut of pulling out of stops without indicating and on the rare occasion you do use it you’ll leave it on all day!
It’s getting closer mate! I reckon you will actually get right into it and after your two years will have a major think about leaving to go back as an LGV driver. All the best with it Dean.

You can’t keep a good man down! This might not have been your first choice in your driving career but well done on taking a flexible approach and the best of luck with life “On the buses”. Don’t disappear now, you already have valuable experience to assist newbies in their quest to become "PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS!

Well, it’s almost upon ya mate! Just one more sleep!
Seriously mate, all the best for tomorrow and I really do think you will enjoy it. Not just the job but also the training.
I remember that I really enjoyed it and was quite sad when I got my pass certifacte and it all had to end. It was great just driving around the countryside with the trainer and a couple of colleagues, stopping at all the butty vans you can find.
Hi Dean
Just want to wish you all the best with your new job and training, and glad you wont “disappear into oblivion” as you would be sorely missed mate
