Eddie Stobarts Trucks And Trailers

mickyblue:
Thank god them trees have arrived!!

Already decorated with snow dont forget lol

164480:
27 tons of christmas tree’s & midlift up on motorway :open_mouth:

I saw that. Surely that must have been a ‘before’ shot, and the axle would have gone down automatically with all that weight on?

I liked the super V6 powered scania with the 420 engine lol
How long have they had V6’s ?
cheers
Steve

Makes me glad that I drive coaches now - in the recent bad weather the customer either cancels or the office cancels the job, like the other week I was half way to a job when it got cancelled so only got a few hours work plus I wouldnt have ended up in hospital that night

running empty from newark to liverpool to get a load for donny, sureley they had a empty trl coming back from hat way.

Yeah, along with the advice when driving in snow to use a low gear and plenty of torque, what a load of old b******s!

what was with that bloke delivering the toys.

“Im like a stick of rock, cut me in half and I’d say Eddie Sobart!” :unamused:

We all know (at least the sensible ones among us) that the programme was cut to sensationalise, otherwise it wouldnt make good tv, and experts :unamused: here can spot the continuity errors but Joe public wont…

I do know I wouldnt have fancied that Inverness trip in that weather, and i do like the fact the programme admitted that the guy who missed his turn off and demanded the cameras were turned off, had “a frank exchange of views”  which led to the TV crew digging him a route out… now thats a driver

mickfly:
Fiona says ‘everyone’ is stuck, but plenty go past her (including trucks). Was she the only one who had to reverse an artic back down the slip?

The presenter also said “the worst winter on record”, is that true?

No one was stuck especially the toner lorry that went by flat out. That argos lorry got going ok and he looked to be in a worse position than fiona and she had an empty trailer on i dunno how she couldnt gey going again if she had of lifted the midlift put the diff on engaged the traction control if thaqt scanny had it selected crawler gear and took it handy she would have got out of it no probs without costing stobbie money on a recovery truck.

As High gear as possible without stalling and trickle the power in, adding power/torque will only make the wheels spin

He had burst into tears, more like!

Just kidding.

And the chances are the people cutting the program together won’t have much knowledge of this industry and not know about things such as lift axles and so forth. To them, as to the Great British Public, a truck is a truck.

and i wonder how many of you thought they would show the jacknifed volvo at a guess no one :sunglasses: :grimacing:

I was thinking they might show that.

Exactly!
(That was the advice of the narrator that I was quoting)

There’s another thread about this so i’ll post my comments in this one as well as the other one seems to be more about her “assets”.

Was I the only one willing her to raise the midlift, engage the difflok and put it in first and coast with no revs up that slip road where she was spinning the wheels and got stuck? I think she normally drives a 4x2 and this is probably the first patch of bad weather shes driven through in the 3 years shes been driving so can be excused a bit but you’d think Stobarts would send a memo out to the drivers with a few tips of how to cope and get the best out of the wagons in the snow and I bet a lot less would have got stuck. Hopefully some of the green brethren willl mention this to her. We all had to learn some time so i’m not knocking her but she could have got out of that situation with a bit of training. She is pretty though

Was funny when the loud fellow got stuck after missing his turn and threw a hissy fit at the camera crew
