Whats this programme actually called?

Home And Away.

They are calling it stobart trucks and trailers

Are they actually the largest Logistics company in the UK or just the one with the highest profile?
Most members of the public couldn’t reconise a truck from your average logistics PLC, but they reconise Stobarts,

welcome aboard mark, get ready for some flak and ignore it. how about you give your take on the filming and what you expect from the filming… and how about after each episode did it portray you in the light you expected.

Yea thanks for that…
Our job is hard and was made alot harder with cameras all over my cab and a camera man in the other seat… Was an experience the last episode to me wil be the best as was at haydock truck show with my mate matt who u will see in episode 1. I must stress tho as people have said it’s not an advertisment for tesco it’s about us drivers and what we do… Apologise for all the bleeping u will get when I collect my new truck with my youngest daughters name on.

if its about us drivers and what we do how come theyve picked a fit bird from 200 drivers at our depot  , its image, it looks far better having some fit bird advertising your company that some fat hairy assed bloke ,
if its to represent the company lets have some film of knackered drivers getting out of bed at midnight and rolling back in the afternoon looking the worse for wear, not some bird done up to the nines who looks more suitable for the catwalk than driving a truck
on a second note how does haydock truck show let the people see what we really do,sounds more like a jolly for the lads to me :unamused: :unamused:
i hope im wrong ,but ive got a feeling this t.v show wont really represent what us drivers really do,but well see.

I can agree with that having been in a promotional film a few years back. They didn’t want you to keep going back and forward until they got the shot they wanted?

True reality doesn’t sell, so it doesn’t make good telly unless there is loads of confrontation between certain characters, which wouldn’t be allowed by Stobarts, or there is some glamour and in all these documentries about these male dominated jobs they love it if there is a woman working there, give them the woman in a mans world angle and if she attractive all the better.

down the glen came stobarts men.
a load of ballet dancers.
one in three had a l.g.v.
and the rest were [zb] ankers.

yorkshire terrier:
ffs why does stobart get all this great publicity,
they laid me off after beating a life thetening illness said i would never be fit to do the job again,
laid loads off over the last few years,
employs anyboby these days,
drivers are no better than any other driver,
trucks are no better than any other truck,
and for some reason the company seem to think they set the standards :imp: :imp:

You have learnt about big company politics, DHL did it to me in exactly the same way, their medical advisers have more clout than my specialist. I am not bitter about it though. DHL did me a favour

I don’t know why they haven’t used that video of the bloke in Boots at Nottingham showing off the reversing skills needed to be a professional driver.

Remember the days when Ady1 had a job for life with the best company in the UK

Having your company on TV didn’t do Stelios any harm either!

Probably a third of their fleet (600 vehicles out of 1800) is ■■■■■■■ with Tesco, even if they lost it they would still be bigger then everyone else.

yet another myth that stobarts are the biggest just because all their trucks look the same whereas the real big boys have trucks in lots of different liveries, some research on google comes up with this quote without the need to blow smoke up stobarts bottom
Company History:
Wincanton plc is one of the United Kingdom’s leading logistics companies focused on three core markets: warehousing, fleet management, and supply chain systems. The company’s warehousing operations consist of 52 automated and nonautomated chilled and ambient temperature warehouses across the United Kingdom, ranging from 1,500 square meters to 30,000 square meters in size; about half of these warehouses are temperature-controlled facilities, representing nearly 250,000 square meters in the company’s total operating capacity of nearly 800,000 square meters. The company’s Fleet Management operation oversees a fleet of nearly 4,000 tractors and 5,000 trailers, about 40 percent of which are directly owned by Wincanton.
