Eddie Stobart Trucks and Trailers, Channel 5

i think the programme is ok quite an amusing watch to be honest, gary the planner and me wouldnt get on but fair play to mark for not letting him get to him, telling me to pull my finger out and crack on … well that would lead to a rather terse reply,

fiona, yep she obviously knows how to use, but then again if i was a women driver like her i would milk it to my advantage as well. ive got no problem with her at all. made me laugh about all this fuss about cakes… they made it sound like the were loose on trollys loose in the trailer when they were in boxes on pallets. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Episode 2

Have to say that I have only worked for 2 companies for any lenghth of time and about a year on the agency in between but I have never had to go looking for my load… thought this was supposed to be a highly organised company. If William has only just found out that he pays a driver good money for walking around trying to find his load rather than doing what he should be doing i.e driving I reckon an ■■■ or 2 will have gotten a big kicking by now.

Think the production company may need a lesson in the difference between kilometres and miles.

I find the programme interesting, wish they would spend more time highlighting that other road users should treat trucks with a bit more respect, they can bite if you abuse them. Do think the spotters are sad people but then are they any sadder than train/plane spotters or even stamp collectors ■■?

Would be interesting to see William come on here and comment on the fair and unfair comments re his company.

Nope, I will be as promised sticking my c*ck in a blender it will be alot less painful than watching stobart arses making all truck drivers look like the dicks that are in that program. Que ROB!!!

Keep comments quiet then…you obviously have no idea about Stobarts and not watching the programme so just shut it!!!

Watched the fist one trapy, hence the blender instead of watching the next pile, I know plenty about stobarts and what there drivers are like as I have to listen to all the crap they talk when I’m tipping in RDC’s and it seems I am far from being alone on my views. Try reading the last ten pages of this thread again and count the ones in favour of stobarts. I rest my case!!

In last nights episode were the trampers cooking their tea on a stove above the fuel tank, not recommended.

Not considering the fuel is “a bomb” (1st episode)

Following giving into temptation (I’m sooooo sorry! ) and watching it on youtube, I did have to laugh at that spotter chap becomeing “number one” then the narrator going on about the “coverted world title” - how quaint and English!! Anyone would think its going to be a sport in the 2012 olympics!!

Now William, don’t go getting any ideas… :unamused: :unamused:

Why is it not recommended, it’s a diesel tank not petrol. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Eddie Stobart were always outsiders and not part of the click, for example they were never members of the RHA

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen, the reason for Stobarts success is they got their heads down into some graft instead of swanning off on exotic champagne charlie trips abroad with WAGS

I hope your tongue is firmly in your cheek Malc!

Tossco drivers @ £11ph (estimate feel free to correct)

Stobarts @ £7.20

The latest example of undercutting in a long line!

Not sure what you are getting at but I don’t think I have ever mentioned wages, estimated or not in over 17000 posts.

My post was in answer to the one above about the RHA, a bunch of champagne charlies who have done nothing for a driver ever, hardly anything for a transport company except charge excessive member fees for freely accessible material

No, but you mentioned WAGS which is very nearly the same thing

Suppose so, need wages to pay for the wags.

That bird has worked there for 2 years but doesnt have to stay out like the rest of em? Bet she gets mon to fri to :unamused: and she is annoying and plays the women card well.

She is on Day work not a tramper like plenty of other male stobart drivers that dont have nights out :open_mouth:

If more women (and ethnic minorities) did the job, then they wouldn’t be able to treat us this badly, white working class males are the only people exempt from the Putting Up With Crap laws.

What I was getting at Malc is Stobarts and others got to where they are by undercutting other hauliers and drivers wages were usually in the firing line. I don’t doubt some work was involved but I haven’t received any medals for the work I’ve put in over 35 years and the same would apply to the vast majority of drivers and hauliers so are Stobarts special in that regard?

Ok, fair enough prove it. I have never come across a day driver, nor has anyone on here who works for them said there is such a thing(not that I have seen I am not saying I am right but it is my take on it before anyone moans. Their work is tramping "from what I know on here and their own website and someone who I knew that worked for them for a year.
I didnt like it or her and the fact she really plays the woman thing if she wants to be an equal she should get out there for the week and do the job like the rest have to. Can see the postives that others have pointed out and agree with some of them. However I still think its gash

Yeah it happened in the maritime industry too, flip flop and bulgy crew were cheaper and easier to manipulate which became the reason why so many trucks were “flagged out” but I take your point about the work you have put in, me too and been undercut by many other companies. It is called business and competition. I don’t think Stobart’s are particularly special, they are just using the media, the brand and a major supermarket to promote themselves well. Even the last 5 or 6 Stobart threads on these forums have promoted the brand well and it wouldn’t surprise me if Andy and Bill are around as guests.

Haven’t you ever heard Michael O Leary and the old adman’s adage‥‘any publicity is good publicity’?

“I don’t care what they say about me as long as they spell my name right.”

or as Oscar Wilde was apparently attributed with;

“There is only one thing worse than being talked about and that is NOT being talked about.”

akaday:
Can we just leave it as they are paid what stobart drivers are worth… Peanuts!!!

For gods sake are you guys for real? I cant believe fully grown adults are saying such things FFS.

I dont work for ESL but i dont agree with this attacking of drivers just because its who they work for.

You lot seriously need to have a word with yourselves.

Steering wheel spinner knobs
Windscreen hanging indian scalp objects

Running at night-time with only 1 headlight after having just loaded

Stopping + parking on Motorway slip roads as soon as they come out of a depot

Poor warehouse returns location pallet storing  half a day lost trying to find 6 pallets in a store – poor planning .

Where does it end

Can’t belive some of the crap people are posting on here if you do not like a certain programme don’t watch it .

It really is that simple and as for the drivers like top gun you find one on every transport firm anywhere not just esl. You could work for a lot worse how many companys would help out after someone dies not bloody many.
