In your case yes!! far superior!
Even here, had a good trip round from the Spanish grand prix to find this on the grid waiting to be unloaded, don’t think any of the drivers talked to him.

Is this the high brow humour we were promised,or are we still waiting?
Me thinks some doth protest too much,
and should go to the sanctuary of the
love that darest not speak its name.

FFS why not? How bloody childish.
He is a truck driver doing a job of work, a long way from home on his own, exactly the same as you. No better or worse.

If “akaday” carries out his threat he’ll not be able to keep quiet —will he? Bewick.

Bewick:
For what it’s worth Lads my advice is don’t watch the programe,I didn’t,so what you don’t see can’t up-set you can it! We’ll soon sus out the saddo’s who do watch it though if the coments start again after the next instalment!!! I had the ESL book bought for me for 25p at a car boot sale a few years ago which by the look of it was still in “brand new” condition.I tried to read it but soon found out that it was one of the finest “works of fiction” ever written! I would place it somewhere between Jeremy Clarkson and J.K.Rowling’s Harry Potter. But in this case the “Boy Wizzard” came from Hesket Newmarket. Hope this post can be in no-way construed as offensive to the sponser’s as I am only trying to calm the lads down as its silly to get wound up over low grade television that is only meant for consumption by the “great un-washed” who haven’t a clue about “our chosen industry”.Keep taking the tablets lads! Cheers Bewick. Was going to send pm but you’re not worth it - if you haven’t watched the programme the don’t comment…you have no right!! Hampton!!
Bewick originates from Ireby the neighbouring village to Hesket Newmarket, there is a lot of rivalry between the villages in ■■■■■■■■
Bewick was a South ■■■■■■■■ haulier, most of the South ■■■■■■■■ fleets were put out business when Eddie Stobart entered Barrow In Furness, company’s like T Brady (Bewicks ex employer) Ray Steel, Shaws, Ashburners, Bewick, Barkers etc no longer in business, so you would naturally expect some bitterness.
Myself I admire their business model however I would prefer it if there were more hauliers in ■■■■■■■ (like the good old days!!!) Stobart whilst making the industry more professional has too much of a monopoly in ■■■■■■■
I offended dieseldave for expressing my admiration for Stobart’s business acumen, Stobart seems to bring out the emotions of other involved in the haulage business.
I think there many more reasons than Stobart coming along with his religious millions that shut the transport companies you have mentioned above, factories like Kangol at Cleator Moor, the Silk Mill, United Coke, British Cellophane, Libbys and parts of James Cropper, From Whitehaven Workington and Maryport down to Millom and Kendal there are many old companies who are no longer around. Marchon kept a lot of hauliers in business around the area. From shoes to railway lines, chemicals to polythene, paper to explosives.
I wonder if Wincanton Transport get the same slagging off in Shepton Mallet, apart from Framptons

Marchon did indeed keep a lot of hauliers in business. ■■■■■■■ at one time had numerous impressive hauliers and although they were rivals they were also very clicky, Eddie Stobart were always outsiders and not part of the click, for example they were never members of the RHA (although they joined at a later date) their drivers never went on strike in 1979 so obviously the “establishment” have emotions about these “upstarts” taking over the entire industry.
I remember in the 1980’s Tyson H Burridge were on a very aggressive programme of expansion, the hostility towards them was immense.

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen, the reason for Stobarts success is they got their heads down into some graft instead of swanning off on exotic champagne charlie trips abroad with WAGS

I hope your tongue is firmly in your cheek Malc!
Tossco drivers @ £11ph (estimate feel free to correct)
Stobarts @ £7.20
The latest example of undercutting in a long line!
I havent read all the thread but from what I have seen I wouldn’t want to work for them.
Gary the planner/manager whatever is a nob
That bird has worked there for 2 years but doesnt have to stay out like the rest of em? Bet she gets mon to fri to and she is annoying and plays the women card well.
The spotters are real sad and I mean SAD ■■■■■■ But each to their own.
Other then that, it is so dramatised its ridiculous it is nothing like real life for a tramper on general.
Verdict is crap program. But I will watch it anyway as I like a moan
