Eddie Stobart caught drink driving

Eddie Stobart has been caught drink driving in the early hours of 17.04.10. he was caught driving his Mercedes car in South Warwickshire near Stratford upon Avon, where he now lives. He is due to appear in court on 28.04.10 to answer the alleged charge of drink driving. Hopefully he will get fined really heavily and banned for a long time as he should know better, however, i bet he gets Mr loophole the solicitor to get him off.

Not so “steady eddie”.

I thought his ‘Church’ didn’t allow drinking alcohol ■■

Why would he get a court order? :open_mouth:

But 11 days from alleged offence to conviction, hardly normal for DD

he without sin cast the first stone !

Yes it is for DD, they are trying to get cases to court even quicker where there is a clear “proven” case, the days of a three month wait for a court case for DD are long gone, I did read somewhere (I can’t find it now) that if you are caught DD and it will result in a ban that you will not be allowed to drive at all before the court hearing - and then you won’t be allowed to drive for at least 12 months.

But they normally have you in court within a couple of days for it, trust me. I know

he may get a great lawyer but that certainly wont help the company reputation tho even if hes no longer there oops

I agree he should have known better, but at the end of the day, he’s only human. I’d like to see zero tolerence on drinking & driving no matter who it is behind the wheel. I suspect quite a few people I know would be on thin ice some mornings & none of them would get any sympathy from me if they blew a positive test. At least Eddie Stobart can afford someone to drive him around.

BB

if you take the blood test it takes a couple of weeks to come through,if that is positive then your up in front of the beak within a week!!

And you can drive in between the day the offence occured and the court date,as your ban starts the day you goto court

Hmmmm. Wonder if he names his cars too. Maybe he has " Bloody Mary" on the front of his Merc.

I used to think the same thing until you start to ponder how far that would reach.

For instance, you’ve had a lovely xmas dinner round at the mum in law’s, conscious of the fact that you’re driving you keep away from the pre dinner drinks etc. After dinner you have a small portion of xmas pudding, it’ll only have a tiny amount of brandy in it but in a zero tolerance world you’d be banned.

Also there is a lot of prescription medication around that will give an alcoholic reading, even though it is a low reading as you say a zero tolerance would result in a ban.

That would make Listerine and other oral hygiene products illegal, forget the Gold Spot spray when you take a new bird out, give her a gob full of garlic or dog breath as a welcome kiss.

loss of repute.

loss of repute.

Why would you need any repute to build horse boxes?

Edward Stobart has had nothing to do with road haulage for 8 years except for the fact he bought into Boalloy and the company failed along with many other commercial trailer manufacturers.

I believe he and Jonjo o Neil are still working together.
