As Chief Operating Officer, William continues to be closely involved with the day-to-day operation of the Stobart Group.
it was edward stobart that got caught phil not william
glad you spotted my deliberate mistake.

TFFT. At last , and as usual from Wheelnut,a post based on fact .Not on “OOOH I Do Hate Stobarts” hearsay , and MMTM garbage.
Eddie Stobart is Edward and William Stobarts Father. He has been retired from the haulage busines for about 25 years. He has nothing to do with the running of Eddie Stobart limited , which is named after him.
Edward Stobart is the man who built the company up to what it was, at the time when he sold it to his younger Brother, William Stobart and his business partner Andrew Tinkler, and their company W A Developments, in about 2002. He was never referred to as “Eddie”. He would always make it quite clear that his name is Edward. That is how all of those who know him always adressed him.
Former workmates still working for the company tell me that Edward has nothing to do with the running of ESL. I cannot see that this Drink Driving charge will have any effect on the good name, or repute of Eddie Stobart limited --to the business world, if not the members of TNUK-- despite all the wishful thinking.
Wheelnut has provided information with regard to the horsebox construction company, that as far as I am aware, Edward is still running.
Any ESL Horseboxes that are knocking about will be either transporting Andrew Tinkler,s racehorses, or William Stobart,s polo ponies. (William now associates with the Upper Classes.). Edward,s company may well have built them.
I haven,t got a clue
I,ve never seen any of them since the day I retired.

Bail for Stobart on drink-drive charge
Published on Wed Apr 28 10:58:29 BST 2010
A former director of the Eddie Stobart haulage empire, from south Warwickshire, has been granted unconditional bail charged with drink-driving.
Edward Stobart, who was arrested by police in the early hours of April 17, was not required to appear at Stratford-upon-Avon Magistrates’ Court.
The case against the 55-year-old, of Ettington, was adjourned until Friday after being dealt with in the absence of magistrates.
The court heard that the adjournment was necessary to allow a barrister to represent Stobart, who was a director with the haulage group until 2004.
No plea was entered on behalf of the defendant, a son of the transport giant’s founder, Eddie Stobart.
YOU or ME would now be starting an 18 month ban

William only got into polo ponies because David Irlam was already into it prior to the takeover of James Irlam… David is associated with 14 of Cheshires polo clubs. William only saw this as a step up in society.
Stobart banned for drink driving
Published Date: 19 May 2010
A former director of the Eddie Stobart haulage empire was given a fine and a driving ban today after admitting drink-driving.
Edward Stobart, who was arrested by police in the early hours of April 17, pleaded guilty to the charge at Stratford-upon-Avon Magistrates’ Court in Warwickshire.
The court heard that the 55-year-old, of Ettington, South Warwickshire, was found to have 70 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - twice the legal limit.
He was pulled over on Warwick Road, Stratford-upon-Avon, after a police officer in an unmarked car noticed he was “unsteady on his feet” as he got into his black Mercedes, the court heard.
Lisa Judge, defending, told magistrates: “He recognises it was possibly one of the most stupid acts he has ever undertaken.”
Stobart, who was a director with the haulage group until 2004, was fined £460 and ordered to pay costs of £90 and a victim surcharge of £15.
The defendant, a son of the transport giant’s founder Eddie Stobart, was disqualified from driving for 20 months and told magistrates he would participate in a drink-driving rehabilitation course.
If completed, the 16-hour course would reduce the driving ban by 20 weeks.
There you go, everyone will be happy now, no Nick Freeman type loopholes, bribery or being let off through some secret society membership.
A silly mistake and paying the price for it, the same as me and you!
15month ban (Inc the 20weeks rehab) and a £460 fine… Hit them where it hurts most, in the wallet… Christ I was done for Dangerous driving 7 years ago and got a year ban and a £500 for being a prat in a car… Makes you wonder sometimes.
Well what can i say!! It would appear that justice has been seen to be done, however, there is always going to be someone who is unhappy with the out come.
