I see, in Truckstop News, that the Dutch government has postponed the CPC deadline by 2 years. That is what will happen here so there is no rush to get it done by September
I think the Germans have done the same too.
Can’t see it happening here, but you never know.
It wont happen here ( yet i thought we were all under the same rules ) our illustrious government when told to jump. asks How High
It will probably be long past the September deadline before the numpties realise it can and should be postponed!
Still I hope it does get put back I must admit.
Nobody can predict what will happen for sure.
It could turn into the best or worst thing to happen
to the industry in years.
Im lucky I have the opportunity to risk not doing it
and in order to have a small affect on what happens
after the deadline, I am prepared to take the risk
that should I decide that I want to continue driving
I may end up paying an inflated price for training.
On the other hand it could get cancelled or companies
may be screaming for drivers and offering free training
and better conditions and wages.
The introduction of the DCPC was a divide and rule tactic
some get it for free whilst others have to pay,in a fragmented
industry like ours it was bound to cause grief.
I have nothing against extra training but if you can sit through 5
first aid courses and that allows you to “crack on” then that in my
opinion is flawed.
Who knows what will happen but after the deadline I will know
if I care or not.

at last, someone thinks like me! all we had to do was say NO
If the spineless cretins of Westminster do put it back by two years they better bloody well extend the renewall date for those that’ve already forked out their hard earned on the lump of plastic! Bet they don’t though.
^^This. I just got mine.
■■■■, thought it said ‘Dutch cap’, I’m here under false pretences…

They haven’t postponed it, it was always due to be implemented in 2016.

There’s always somebody who has to spoil it all by posting the facts.

Yep, that’s my job
I was quite surprised to see that Romania has had the system in place since 2003, nice to see it works by some of the driving I have seen over here
If the government were to postpone it, they would have done it starting with PCV drivers.
God love the Dutch. Fabulous people.

With you there, bro. I wish I was Dutch, it looks like great fun … youtube.com/watch?v=OTfiAmuOp5c
Calm down chaps…neither the Dutch or Germans have ‘postponed’ anything - both Nations just started DCPC later than the UK, as is their right under the EU Directive. They still have to do the 35 hours training within the 5 years (at the latest) 2011 - 2016 and so on and so on… We, along with other EU Member states chose to implement the Directive earlier 2009 - 2014 (or 2008 - 2013 for PCV licence holders). That is all!!!
Repeat - nothing has been “postponed” or cancelled!!!
Oh, shame. Still love the Dutch though.
