A Dutch truck driver has made the news here in Holland, by being captured on camera taking a [zb] next to his truck in Manchester and flinging it over the barrier. My wife translated the news item. Apparently, the truck firm has apologised to Manchester and sent flowers to the city, but admit the driver is still working for them.

It’s also reported that the driver wiped his bottom nicely !

I think you might need to be part of Facebook to view the news item. Sorry.

So it’s made the news over there?. Imagine the shame of it  .

Well, the only way to stop this is to put more cctv cameras in every corner of Britain and fine heavily, also introduce financial rewards to members of public to grass on truckers. That’s the only solution.

I’m not advising anything, I’m simply stating that this is the only way to stop it. There will always be people that don’t adhere to ‘normal’ behaviour standards, so my post wasn’t meant to be suggestive.

Jeez H Christ mate, even I’m virtually speechless…You ARE being serious. :open_mouth:

Yeh nice idea bud, just what the UK needs :unamused: , even more neo Stazi like intrusive surveillance backed up by weasely type grasses, you know the type, those guys who sit down to take a ■■■■, taking great pleasure in informing on us all, for this that and the [zb] other. :unamused:

Just wondering here, are you one of those drivers that believe, (and even repeat) all the management type horse crap that tells us in cab cameras are …‘’ There to protect us’’ :unamused:

Ffs!

You must be unable to understand what you read, so I will repeat myself, if you wanted a solution, since they aren’t gonna build any more public toilets this is the only real solution, as some will always do what THEY think is OK.

Read this twice now - I DO NOT SUPPORT GRASSING OR MORE CCTV.

Don’t patronise me mate, I fully understand what I am reading thanks.
Whether you are advising it or not, you are still advocating it by suggesting …quote ‘‘That’s the only solution’’ .
Now you read that twice.
:unamused:

I’m sure the culprit will contemplate long and hard next time he plans on eating something while in the UK.

Amazing logic, OK whatever mate.

Well either amazing, correct, or you have failed to express yourself properly eh?

Do you know what mate, I’ve been looking at your avatar for God knows how long and been thinking " That rings a bell ".

It’s finally come to me…it’s our Romanian cab dancing friend

Well either amazing, correct, or you have failed to express yourself properly eh?

It’s a solution, plain and simple, whether I support or not has nothing to do with the subject.

What’s your workable solution to stop this from happening?

Ok, fair enough, it’s a solution yeh, but a bloody drastic one, and an uneccessary one, not to mention an unwelcome one.

As I said there is already an abundance of over the top surveillance methods in this country without creating yet another one which is tantamount to a ‘Snooper’s charter’.

My solution?
Address the source of the problem not a symptom of it.
Provide proper parking with proper facilities for trampers, it should be taken for granted as a human right not a scarce luxury as it is now. :bulb:
A cheaper solution which is specific to this thread would be put portaloos on estates used by truckers for o/night parking, not a pleasant proposition using one but an improvement for those who feel the need to crap under their trailer.
Also a cheaper alternative to my first point.

Several years ago while I was bored with driving trucks,I thought I’d give coach driving a go for an outfit in west London.I only lasted 3 weeks including the week’s notice.Anyway,I found it not at all unusual for coach drivers waiting round at the back of hotels for their passengers to dump the contents of the coach toilet onto the street. Now that’s really not nice.

Nobody will pay for portaloos, because there’s no revenue there, just an expense. So, although I like the idea, I don’t believe it will be implemented.

Quite an expense i’d imagine, what with having to have them emptied daily. Vandalism would also be an issue…

Ok the portaloo idea has it’s flaws, but in real terms it is a h&s issue which is conveniently ignored, but should not be.
It seems that even h&s is selective when it suits ‘‘them’’. :smiling_imp:
It’s one of the few h&s issues that is a positive for us instead of the usual pita negative ones.
So why is it not dealt with?

I had to laugh when they brought in that bloody stupid weekend rest rule, preventing you spending it in your cab.
One of the reasons mentioned was ‘‘driver’s welfare’’, lack of facilities etc, as if they were doing it as a favour for drivers. :unamused:
Unreal.
If that did not signify that it was a legitimate problem, but generally swept under the carpet, I don’t know what is.

Mark my words, as per usual, instead of a solution that helps drivers they will come up with a revenue generating solution & the spin will be along the lines of ‘we are fighting global warming’ or some ■■■■■■■■ like that.

Much like lorry drivers and lack of proper toilet drops can be very hard to find being so few and far between. Not that I’d ever condone this behavior. He should at least have lined it up over a drain

Had a letter in a couple of years ago suggesting all the M25 needed was a couple of slip roads and a large gravelled parking area with some portal loos for all the trucks and cars. (A massive recovery vehicle to rescue all the bogged vehicles wasn’t mentioned :frowning: ? )
Wasn’t you who sent it in was it Robroy

And…instead of using the porta loos there’ll still be those ■■■■■■■ all over the floor. What with the gravelled area idea it would quickly turn into a real health hazard…

Not so sure about it’s privacy levels or it being weather friendly
