Driving too slowly is dangerous

IMO the Police driver was more in the wrong than the lorry driver in this case & both are to blame.

Yeah of course, :unamused: that’s why the lorry driver was prosecuted and the police officer was not and believe me there is no biased when these collisions are investigated.(extremely thoroughly by civilians and not cops.)
If the copper is anyway in the wrong( or they think he could have prevented it) they come down on them like a ton of bricks. They also take into account who they were chasing at the time and the level of their crime but I am presuming you know that.

Lucky I was not one of those “civilians” then as from what I have seen I would have come to a different conclusion as the Police driver (in this case) is supposed to be very highly trained.
Again from the info on the video the driver did not know who he was pursuing just that he was speeding so we have to assume that that was his level of crime.

Of course you would but you are a lorry driver and not trained to examine HSC and do not know all the relevant facts. The copper driving the car has been highly trained as they all have to be and all to the same standard. The majority also hold an LGV licence.

robbo99.:
As Drivers,we are all taught to expect the unexpected and to anticipate other road users actions. Doing 120 mph on the approach to a roundabout were unfortunately people do manoeuvre from one lane to another and may even make what appear to be a stupid or even illegal manoeuvre in the last few hundred yards on approach is always going to be extremely risky were speeds of 120 mph are involved. Speed kills. Even a cop car with fancy stripes and lights is going to come off worse in a collision with a wagon.

And as lorry drivers we are taught to check our mirrors, and if we do and see a police car with headlamps flashing we do not change lanes unless we are one of the many who should not be on the road!
Maybe you should try to pass a police class one driving test before commentating. You may just learn something that you already do not know.

I must have missed that bit in the video, or is it from another source?

Yes it is.

This is like an episode of Eastenders, everyone slagging everyone else off, happy days.

I agree, it’s just a pity some lorry drivers have absolutely no respect for the police and are blinded by hatred and biased views which always makes them right and the other party wrong. :unamused:

As already stated, all Drivers are taught to expect the unexpected. Just because it’s a cop car that doesn’t make him immune from others actions. Doing over 50mph above the roads max speed limit is by itself high risk to everybody.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
incorrect my good man.
everyone else is in agreement and are just taking jakethesnake pedantic last word bait once again as new contender for the old tramp crown.
we can all see the truck indicating,we can all see the cops lane stops and there is no lane 3 when he tries to squeeze through a gap thats obvious isnt there as the lanes drop to 2 anes with the inside lane seperating meaning that the truck is allowed in the lane he was going into.
we can all see the cop not anticipating the road ahead and paying the price for being so gormless though his biased opinion somewhat wins the day for him.
truckie dont look like the sharpest pencil in the box hence plod didnt get his ears ripped off for hitting the truck when he should have and could have easily avoided it.
so once again, its a 2 sided debate…another professor with a phd in mince tramp contender vs the rest of us.

People form opinions of people by how they are treated by those people and in the police’s case there are to many serving officers who don’t give a toss what the public think and unfortunately a high proportion of those are in the traffic branch
Conversation with a traffic officer on the A75
Him " In the run up to Christmas we’re stepping up our stops so you can tell all your Paddy mates they’re going to be stopped a lot more"

Me “Don’t think you should be using the term Paddy would you use the N word when talking about black people?”

Him “Complain if you want but your boss puts at least 5 lorries over the 75 every night sure he wouldn’t want them missing the boat each night”

Second case in Bamber Bridge services copper opens the door
Him " Alright there haven’t I stopped you before?"

Me " Yes about 3 times in the last two moths"

Him “Yes that’s right you’re the boy with the funny accent so where are you heading?”

Me “Fleetwood”

Him " So you’re going to see the Codheads then"

Two examples of complete disrespect from uniformed public servants and you wander why the public’s respect for the police is diminishing year on year until the police accept that they have officers who are well below the standard that they should be, these officers will tarnish all. I don’t hate the police just have no respect for them to many cases of them lying and falsifying evidence for it to be said to be a one off.

I can just imagine the conversation the cop in the video had with his wife at the dinner table the night of the incident. “Well love I’ve had another successful day making our roads far safer, yes I’ve managed to half wreck my patrol car and in the process the car I was after got away to live to fight another day. It doesn’t matter about the damage to the patrol car, the tax payers will foot that bill. Anymore apple sauce love?”

Now, exactly the same thing could be said about lorry drivers and unfortunately the public despise us a little more than the police.

I have met numerous lorry drivers whilst being a driver and I have worked with numerous traffic police during my life and I can tell you a lot you would not want to hear from both sides however I know for a fact the majority of them both are fine. ■■■■■ on both sides although recently I would say lorry drivers have overtaken by their extremely poor driving standards.

If you had been the lorry driver in the clip would you say you were guilt free or would you be totally ashamed?

Because you have passed a Police Class 1 driving test??
No?
Well why not just shut the ■■■■ up then. :unamused:

Note…Btw if you actually have…trust me nobody on here actually gives a flying one. :bulb:

Really , and have you any evidence to support your claim?

What do think about lorry drivers falsifying their records and causing death and injury by their poor driving?

Far too many on here are totally one sided.

Read the national newspapers plenty of evidence there of cases collapsing due to the police failing to do their job properly and in my second example of the copper at Bamber Bridge him and his oppo were given a 6 month injunction against the company I worked for where they couldn’t stop us as they were found guilty of harassment.
Don’t agree with drivers falsifying records either and have never said I do, two wrongs don’t make a right and the police are there to uphold the law not break it

Took all of 30 seconds to find these
spectator.co.uk/2015/03/the … n-britain/

bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-19728951

theguardian.com/uk-news/201 … corruption

independent.co.uk/news/uk/c … 53023.html

I’m sure that with a bit more research many more cases would come to light as I said it took all of 30 seconds to find those remember the police are there to uphold the law not break it

Anybody remember the guy who used to come on here a while back, and try to wind up everyone about autonomous trucks, and how we were all doomed as low life thick drivers?

He would never actually commit himself with any corroborated evidence that he had an official connection to their development, but would put up ambiguous posts to that effect, …and then come over all ‘‘Mr Superiortoyou’’ :unamused: , as if he was some kind of official spokesman for projects, if you questioned him or argued his point.

Then he would not post for a while but come back on saying he had been away on business…or on holidays with his family.

I can not for the life of me think who has the same style of posting on another subject… but I’m sure it will come to me. :bulb:

Jake we can only judge from what we see on “this” video, but you seem to imply that you have seen another (?) if so then please post a link.
You do not know what my training is & nor my working background (not just a lorry driver)
For sure driving standards are not what they were (IMO) but life on the roads now is a good deal more hectic than it used to be and with that comes a good deal of stress and as you know that can often lead to poor judgement at times (again as you know  )
It is clear that you are trying to defend the indefensible in this case (all IMO of course)

Have I rattled jakethesnake? I don’t really give a monkeys what you think either. Anyone ever tell you that once you become abusive, you lose the argument, it’s more often than not down to the lack of an education!
