Drivers disturbing other drivers

Conor:

I pointed out that you don’t park in bad places through choice, it’s an absolute last desperate resort situation

Yeah you do do it out of choice when you chose to pass all those perfectly good places you could have stopped at trying to wring every last minute out of the tacho leaving you getting to the point where you literally just have to abandon it where you roll over to 9hrs.

Well I was talking from my own personal point of view, as I certainly don’t work like that, but I reckon that will be the case with some of em some of the time yeh, granted.

I have to admit to doing that a few times in the past. But they were all actually driving at the time and I could see they were struggling keeping within the white lines after a long delayed night usually followed by a flash and/or wave of thanks. Also been thanfkful for the favour in return maybe once or twice. The shot of adrenaline it creates is unbelievable.DAF’s being some of the best out there. :smiling_imp:

Other than that who knows wtf it’s all about.

Says the man who’s never really had to do a driving job that actually required any thought. A man who can only cope when every single second of his day is planned by others.

the maoster:
Absolute scum. The type of amoeba with zero social graces, the type of pondlife who’d not show any gratitude or acknowledgement to you holding a door open for them, letting them out of a sliproad, backing off when they’re struggling to get past, the list goes on.

All in all the type of person that I’d happily squat down beside and enjoy watching them take their last breath as they die from throat cancer!

Apart from that I have no problem with them!

:open_mouth: Jeez Maoster, remind me never to cross you.

Recruitment officer : " why do you want to be a sniper?"

Moaster: " I want to watch a man, when I squeeze the trigger, and see his head explode"

I have had the toot ,and it is always when I am just about to fall asleep .

Had to night out at Leicester Forest East unexpectedly about a month ago and their was a number of DPD drivers doing trailer swoops leaving the engine running. They would then stand there for ages chatting loudly with the engines still running. It was obvious they couldn’t give a ■■■■ about people trying to sleep.
It’s one of the reasons I avoid MSA as best I can.

Good opportunity to teach them about the importance of double checking the clip (I joke , I joke!)

I know what you mean, but they are just inconsiderate and ignorant ■■■■■■ the noise they make is whilst doing their job.
Where as the individuals who think it’s a laugh to try and wake a tramper on his daily rest comes under the full on unbalanced f/whit category. :bulb:

Yes there’s some real idiots especially at Lockerbie that’s why I don’t bother stopping anymore .

years ago .used parked near a wickes distribution centre in hemel hempstead.
on and off all night kept hearing trucks beeping and music. i couldt sleep so looked out . and basically all the night drivers from wickes somehow found it hilarious to drive along the road doing about 5 mph windows down music on beeping away at all the trucks parked along the road .
childish if you ask me

There’s some prick that drives down the A1 blowing his airhorns as he passes lay-bys. I’ve heard him a couple of times. I’d love to get his reg number and company name then name and shame on here [emoji2959]

Childish yes, but it all boils down to ‘proper drivers’ and those who play at it, and who are actually nothing more than car drivers with an HGV licence.
There ain’t much solidarity today :unamused: , but once over there was at the very least an underlying type of bond, however tenuous where drivers did at least have a bit of mutual respect and empathy towards each other, (those who have done a bit will know exactly what I’m trying to say, those who have not will not)
I can not imagine that scenario happening once over.
This is part of the reason that the job is ■■■■ ed. :bulb:

I wouldn’t do it to a truck, but twice this week I have driven past a bunch of mobile caravan dwellers who have pitched up close to the depot and given them a toot at 5am to show my appreciation of their presence

I remember reading an article.maybe watching something
The Dutch had problems with caravaners .
The authorities got hold of a stage truck equipped with a loud speaker system.
And they drove it past at intervals during the night turned up fully. And eventaulkynthe caravaners got fed.up and.moved on

I don’t know why they don’t do similar here.

Best respond to him bless him.

Aye that’s right doze, stressed out to ■■■■ as usual, mate, climbing the walls…you know how highly strung and panicky I am.

Anyhow mate, you won’t even notice the knobheads trying to wake you, as you’re normally cream crackered after being ran ragged to the last minute you park in your lay by, you’ll be dead to the world for 8 hours and 59 mins.
Get yourself on the Red Bull man to ease the fatigue,… keep off the beer and leave it to us with a stress free life sat on our arses relaxing after an easy day. :sunglasses:
