Absobloodylutely. From airport lounge to fully flat bed to as much drinks and food as often as you want. Plus I love the Virgin Upperclass bar on the plane, spent many an hour sat there talking to people. I don’t think anyones Premium Economy is worth the extra but next step up certainly is. Have you seen Emirates offering? On the A380 you can actually book a bedroom with a double bed! That is serious money though

Was that premium economy club class or premium economy business class?
And sit with the riff raff, I don’t think so, premium economy is still economy, if I’m paying extra, I want a little bit more than a metal knife and fork, a couple of inches of extra legroom and a few degrees extra recline in my seat.

I get really annoyed when a close friend or family member says they can’t afford it but then they are off to the Med, the Canaries three times a year 
The cost of living here is way over the top.
As you should, flying to the US has never been cheaper, on Norwegian you can fly return to east coast from Gatwick for about £300 or so
That’s a con, all the extra charges push the fares higher than Virgin Atlantic, meals, luggage, drinks and entertainment are all extra and the 300 quid quote is only one way. I used to fly over here twice a year when I lived back in the UK. I like some comfort on an 8 hour flight.
The other English driver I work with flew over on Norwegian and he said it was a crap flight, we flew over at Christmas on Virgin and got seats in Premium Economy (Business class) for $1100.00 each, full service, reclining seats, wine as soon as we sat in our seats, priority boarding and food served on bone china.
It was both ways and certainly not a con, I’ve used them and others myself, £330 RETURN. You carry on paying hundreds of dollars for crap meals and two inches of extra leg room and I’ll save my money for more worthwhile things and fly Norwegian. Crap food on bone China is still crap food. Be warned though, the likes of Norwegian are getting VERY popular and the big airlines are taking notice of their business model. To the point where BA’s owner IAG is considering taking them over.
(P.s Premium Economy isn’t real business class. It’s premium economy. Save your money and try Virgin Upper Class, that’s actually worth paying for if you book in advance and get tickets during sales. Though east coast flights are too short to make the most of it. Flown to California in Upper Class a couple of times, amazing experience)
Norwegian are upfront with exactly what the costs are, you just choose what services you want. But they are the least expensive company to fly to Europe.
Strange but true fact is if you book in the Norwegian language and pay in their local currency on their site the cost drops about 8%.

Exactly. On low cost airlines everything is made clear, if you don’t want something don’t pay for it. Even food isn’t all that important on short (7 hour) East Coast flights, just buy some supplies before you board. I didn’t know about the Norwegian language tip, I’ll try that next time, thanks.
The only one I’d avoid is Wow Air. You change in Iceland with them and their organisation skills are diabolical!

…If you save enough dosh though, it could be argued it’s worth “roughing it”… By Organisation skills problem - I take it you mean that the aircraft to reykjavik is supposed to touch down around 14:00 for example, but the only daily flight from there to Canada - departed 13:30!

I flew LHR to Ottawa to Montreal to Winnipeg once as the Ottawa Winnipeg leg was canceled for some reason, landed in Montreal and had to leg it to the next plane, I arrived in Winnipeg 3days before my luggage. Luckily i was home so it wasn’t a huge problem, but if I was going to Winnipeg on holiday, it would have been a PITA.
Last couple of times I’ve got a run to Calgary and gone there in the lorry and got a direct flight to LHR. Coming home was weird, in the morning I was driving a C class Merc around the M25, the same evening I was in a Peterbilt on the TransCanada highway.

I hate having to switch planes en-route, I always fly direct to London. Earlier this year my company flew me to Dubuque IA to collect my new truck, it involved changing planes in Chicago, it was almost a disaster ! … We landed in Chicago with over and hour to spare but sat on the taxiway for almost an hour due to the arrival gate being occupied, I eventually exited the plane with 10 minutes to fine the next one, anyone who has ever been in O’Hare airport will know what a confusing maze the place is, I did find what gate the departure was from and got on the plane as they were closing the gate, I was sure I had lost my checked bag was not going to be with me as ten minutes after leaving the first plane and running to the opposite side of the terminal, however as I stood by the luggage conveyor in Dubuque my checked bag appeared. How on Earth they managed to get that single bag off the first plane and across the airfield to my next plane in time is a mystery to me
