R.I.P condolences to his family …

Potato head:

Reef:
Yes indeed, condolences to everyone close to him and may he rest in peace.

Is there any official source of this yet? as I haven’t found anything on a quick search.

The old Bill had just found him about 11 this morning, was talking to one of the girls from the services, the. Police was just parked in front of the unit, white Merc and trailer nothing on both, looked like the driver was on his bed, it was parked in the Coach bit on the right as u just come in. Very sad

Very sad,was the driver english  ive only just seen this so ive missed the dodgy comments.

Didn’t really matter what nationality ? Some poor human being passed away alone in a truck

RIP

Very sad story, RIP drive.

Must be harrowing for the family knowing he passed away in such a lonely environment.

RIP Driver. I hope he did not suffer all alone in his final hours.
My heart felt condolences go out to his family and friends.
God Bless.

Really is a horrible way to go. RIP.

Sorry to hear about this sad loss, deepest condolences to anyone who knew the driver.

Just maybe there is something we can do in a small way to help fellow drivers on nights out in dificulty or simply return a bit of the cameradery to this profession.

Maybe when parked up say hello to your neighbour, perhaps enquire about their time of departure. Simple enough to do and better than burying our heads in smartphones and shutting out the real world.

Maybe even a recognised signal like a long horn toot that indicates to other drivers one of our own is in trouble…

Utopian thinking maybe but next time your parked up a simple hello to another driver as you walk for a wee / wash etc, might just improve their day of solitude.

Look out for yourselves and one another…

Totally agree but half the time if I make conversation with another driver he wants to tell me his bull shine life story.
But on the subject of looking out for fellow drivers I think it is something that drivers and bosses should do more of.
There are some vulnerable drivers out there and iv worked with some troubled blokes over the years, while others would say “he int rite in t head him” I always tried to give them a bit of time if I could.
My advise to any drivers is try and have a couple of mates doing the same job that you speak to every day, then if you don’t ring or they can’t contact you they know something may be wrong.

r.i.p. poor driver. He is not the first to be found this way, and certainly wont be the last, but a sad state of affairs to die in a lonely cab without ever being able to say goodbye to his loved ones. Maybe it was a heart attack and they sometimes don’t give any warning otherwise he could possibly have dialled 999. Condolences to all who knew him, and the ones he left behind.

So very sad, condolences to his loved ones. RIP Drive.

unfortunately lost my father in the same circumstances. because he was away from home all sorts of problems to get body home for funeral, took weeks on top of the grief and shock of one of the worst things that can happen in yur life9 losing a parent) all that extra stress. R.I.P. and god bless

RIP Driver.

R.I.P Driver, sad news

Very sad news, RIP Driver, and my sympathies to his family and friends.

This happened many years ago at Castle wire Cardiff, we used to park on a piece off ground inside the works, and use their facilities. A driver had arrived in the evening and parked ready to load in the morning, when he hadn’t rang his firm to confirm being loaded by mid morning, they rang Castle wire to find out if he’d arrived yet. Seeing that he’d booked onsite the previous evening, security went to the lorry park, found his lorry and him passed away inside, cant remember exactly how, but natural causes.

Castle wires solution to this, was too ban onsite overnight parking, which meant stopping outside with the prossies :unamused:

Hiya i was on Toddington in the mid 80,s i’d parked up and a mate come to me for a chat. i said that
chap has a good job he was parked up there last night he must like that place. the other chap said
is he in the same spot i said yes so we looked closer we noticed under the truck was dry although it
had been raining all day. we never even knocked we went to that little police station the used to be there
and told the coppers…give them their due they come right away. the drivers door wasn’t even locked. it
as he was just leaning on the steering wheel. it looked like he’d stopped for a nap and passed away
never knew his name or anything…rip driver.

It’s made me realise that something me and my wife do is quite helpful (it started as a bit of an “inside joke”). Every time I park for the night I send a location report on my phone to her that is accurate to a few feet. The joke being mine was all over the place and her reply usually being the houses location.

But - it gives me some comfort that should anything happen at least I could be found easily as it’s not the actually dying in a cab that’s ever worried me. It’s the not being found.

Sadly this isn’t always the case.

I’ll like to think that this driver enjoyed his work and passed on peacefully having enjoyed his last day.

So sad, R.I.P Drive

I hope whoever he was, his loved ones may one day see this forum and find some comfort . :frowning:

Really sad way to go, rip.

St. Peter asked him through the gate, how his journey brought him here.
He said, I’ve driven trucks for all my life, for many many years.
With that the gate swung open, with the sounding of the bell,
Come in my friend and rest yourself, you’ve had enough of hell
