Put the beer in an empty Coke tin or other brand.Nobody would know it had beer in it.
Arrrggg Toby now what are you saying■■? you’ve been truckin many of years common sense mate
Nobody batted an eyelid when drivers had a few pints while waiting to get on the ferry at Portsmouth.
Once on board, they would carry on til late at night.
Once docked in France , they would have a sleep for an hour or so then carry on driving.
After a full shift, park up at the Rouitiers for more drink.

Look on the bright side at least with that there’s no risk of hitting a law car with an empty bottle or can when you throw it out the window.
from what I and no doubt others have read is if you are caught doing anything while you are driving,[eating ,map reading, checking your paperwork, even drinking soft drinks,it is a fine and three points on your licence,as one of the other posts stated doing any of these things you are not in proper control of your vehicle

Bit off topic but when I used to drive coaches in the 80’s for siesta International et al, we would pull up to the first pick up point, the second driver and I would be swigging from a whiskey bottle and appearing very drunk! The hostess stood at the open centre door shaking her head and rolling her eyes at the passengers who looked terrified and gobsmacked. Of course she would inform them that those two idiots (us drivers) had poured IRON BREW into empty whiskey bottles and your in for a laugh with those two!Good old days In 8 years there was only one person who could not get the joke and complained, guess what? he worked for the ministry of transport

could still do it now when you are stationary,in front of other people swig from a vodka bottle and if anyone complains show them the bottle filled with water

Not sure about the 3 points but its in that book folks only read once or twice.

Safe driving and riding needs concentration. Avoid distractions when driving or riding such asloud music (this may mask other sounds)
trying to read maps
inserting a cassette or CD or tuning a radio
arguing with your passengers or other road users
eating and drinking
smoking
I have looked at this advice and choose to ignore it as I find concentration is enhanced when trying to multitask without being caught…
Nobody has stated the obvious, you may spill it!!!

Beer is a bit uncouth i think a martini would be better although making it while driving could be hazardous.
It must be Pimms o’clock somewhere !!
Dipper Dave
The comment about pouring said flask into a cup not a cupholder made me lol just imagine the language after
Its like opening a bottle of coke then hitting a bump coke everywhere looking like I wet myself lol oh dear
Jeff.

Try a shot of Martin Rosso in your beer, the Portuguese love it.
I was introduced to this concoction while in Lisbon earlier this year by my Portuguese mate, but over indulged while down in Faro in July.
the one and only:
If I saw any motorist drinking behind the wheel and it was absolutly clear it was alcohol (difficult with some products) I would report them
oh god…don’t you know there would be one Rupert posting that reply…id really love to be your neighbour…
kr79:
If you drunk a can of beer while driving but was under the alcohol limit would it be ilegal?
yes if you stole the can from a shop without paying

Sadly society these days is brimming with people “reporting” or looking to “report” people for any number of minor - and not so minor - indiscretions. We have become a nation of snitches instead of just keeping our fat beaks out of other folks’ business. Personally I agree with the toby1234abc and maga’s posts in this thread.
Not quite on topic, I have noticed a lot of drivers driving with their earphones on, one of my colleagues uses his iphone to listen to his music while driving, that can’t legal? no ones mentioned rolling a ■■■ on the move
Why can’t it be legal to listen to music through headphones whilst driving? Are you also saying that deaf people should be barred from driving too.
quote above made me think of it, with earplugs in sounds around you may be hidden.
Our vehicles and plant machinery were monitored last year, to ensure there was not too much noise, one of the lorries was above the recommended Db level, we were told we would have to wear ear protection in that vehicle. The guy who now drives with his earphones in! said that would be illegal.

I can assure you,you can get 3 points and a fine oh and a lecture off the old bill too mentioning that they attended that incident down in Taunton where all that smoke blew across the carriageway, that split second in a lapse of concentration can cause carnage, especially in a truck this big.
