Another catastrophe prevented today by our team at the #Dartford Tunnel
Another driver failing in the most basic of duties…a simple driver walk around check!
The wheel on this trailer moments away from detachment…lives undoubtably saved. #checkyournuts #walkaroundchecks
That’s shocking, but so is the hyperbole about “undoubtably” (what ever that means) saving lives.
Must be a hard job to get into, given that precognition seems to be part of the “person spec”
More social media self-aggrandisement, to be lapped up by the general public credit-fodder (as a member here once so wonderfully described a large portion of society) and regurgitated to other dimwits, the world over.
Drempels:

You seem to have a problem? Should we do away with these checks? Or would it be better if drivers did their job correctly? Maybe this might make some realise how important it is to check your nuts on a regular basis. It might actually prevent it happening again. Surely that’s a good thing.

Dont forget we had the same ten nuts when the limit was 32 ton and Im sure I have read somewhere that should one nut be loose the other nine simply arent up to the job of securing the wheel?
Wheel might have been off 300 miles ago and the guy didnt have the resources to retorque them, that is of course if he even knew the wheel had been off?
The possible list of reasons are endless.
So the driver could leave the yard in good faith and still potentially loose a wheel.
Assuming that pic is of the vosa inspector, why on earth is he going under the trailer between the wheels? potential for disaster is there.

You got issue with the authorities, in this case DVSA getting this vehicle off the road? The way your talking they are just wasting this drivers time. Yes, a wheel coming off at 50mph can kill someone easily. So yes, saving lives here is quite a real prospect. I don’t see your problem with that?
No thanks, did I misunderstand you? Feel free to explain.
Well if He meant something else I also misunderstood so would love him to re post with an explanation in English if he was trying to say something else.
Hahaha bloody hell, how hard is it to be able to separate criticism of the use of self-congratulatory, badly spelled guff by a government agency who should know better, from the act of prohibiting a vehicle?
Of course it should be off the road, who in their right mind wants to see that being driven around in that state?
The problem I have is with the peurile “look at us, aren’t we great, yah-boo” TEXT OF THE MESSAGE. It reads like the author is a bloody teenager.
Post the picture (if you must) maybe with advice about wheelnuts and leave it at that.
Claiming to have saved lives is pure speculation, at best. Govt agencies should be and be seen to be above this kind of nonsense.

Exactly right…Oh, and for what it’s worth, I got you original post

That’s in your mind and not necessarily what others think. It hopefuuly sends out a signal to try to make others think. Some drivers seem to have a problem with people in authority who can expose the ongoing problems caused by bad transport management and irresponsible drivers who flout the law on a day to day basis. I would imagine you will hate the traffic cops as well.
