Hi ya BigG-Unit!!! Well yeah your absolutely spot on…Well about 10 years ago Peter Taylor died of a massive heart attack…And he was a fit bloke…Over the years he had brought the company outright off his brother and sister…And when he past on it was left to his two daughters to run the firm and the obvious
happened they ran it into the ground… They still own the land and it still is a transport yard …But The one sister went back into banking and the other still runs a forwarding company from there…They rent most of it out to other haulage companies…I did some work out of there about 3 years ago,me and a mate ran two trucks to france from there…But that went ■■■■ up…Anyway nice to hear from you and no doubt we’ll chat again soon…All the best… Wagsie…

I will ask around, I had 4 months off earlier this year, we have a couple of blokes off on long term sick and one that will not return. It seems like a job for the senile and bewildered at the moment
I will ask the guy in the office but I have seen Bernards name on some paperwork this week.
I know of one ex GBE chap who was mentioned recently on here has just finished serious hospital treatment.

Hi wagsie, thanks for the info, and so quick a reply too! Sorry to hear about P.T. but sadly, not uncommon in the job, Mr Starkey, just up the road went the same way I believe. I got out in '94 but my H.C. still got me just over two years ago. Luckily I survived for a bit longer so I’m making the best of it now. Still love looking back though and this forum is great for that ay. Good to see that all is not lost at Taylors with one girl still involved, power to her elbow Them motors looked great didn’t they? would appreciate any more pics you have. cheers.
