Do you try to take a sneaky 15 min break at the pumps?

billybigrig:
Personally, if there’s room, I usually fill up then pull clear of the pump before I walk in to pay allowing my fellow driver behind to get on the pump and follow me in to hand in his card

Plenty of time to take a squirt and grab a coffee then :grimacing:

surely that would be classed as being helpful towards other drivers and frowned up on in this day and age .

I think that if you actually care where the bloody mode switch is when fuelling up, paying for it or otherwise you really do need to get a life.

And for the goody two shoes on here I put the mode switch where it suits me - not anyone else.

how can it possibly take 15 at a fuelstop :imp: this really takes the ■■■■ if you want to sneak a 15 do it at a drop . if your that tight on yor hours (bearing in mind that is your 1st break ) perhaps you or your boss deserve everything you get :unamused: we all sneak a sly one now and then but not when it hold up others

What he does with the mode switch while on the pumps is of no concern really. Its not me who’s getting done by VOSA. Just don’t jam the pumps up if there is a queue behind him. Common courtesy!!!

What about pulling up on the pump @ 4pm, and getting your head down for the full 45?
The whole world thinks agency are scum already, so one would just be acting to form!

Plus the obligatory steam cloud from the wheel, making sure a few droplets get on your boots before you get in the bunk. Oh, keep the greasy hi-viz on whilst you’re having a kip - can’t be too safe!

Squiddy:
Argghh I didnt break any tacho laws though, did I?

Yes you did.

Squiddy:
Fueling up does not count as ‘other work’. Neither does paying for the fuel.

Yes they do.

mrx:
if the drvr is free to do what he wants why cant that include shifting a few pallets?

As an owner driver I can do pretty much whatever I choose all day long so perhaps I should just start recording my entire day as break then?

mrx:

But you’re NOT free to do what you want even on “break” mode, as I can’t have a drink, get laid, go home, or a load of other stuff that I’m often in the mood for at the 4.5 hour point… :smiling_imp:
