Yes.
I work for small company run by bunch of friends, it’s like in the family there…
I am quite surprised why they took me on, most of the drivers are working there for years and all new guys, except me, are their kids or friends… So I am the only outsider.
But they send me to important jobs ( I mean “we have to do it right, there is no second try with this company, so we have to send someone reasonable” and they send me. It’s nice.
They seem also to value my language skills, they are always polite and helpful (except one guy, but he’s just like that, nothing hostile in him, it’s just the way he speaks to people).
And I can have influence on what kind of jobs I am willing to do, to some extend off course, as business needs go first.
And there are some nice events, we had a company pub meet recently, but even more fun was when I came back from the run and my boss, who was still in the office after hours found that it my Birthday… We had a pint in the office
Last time I was treated so well was when I worked for Hebrides Haulage, but here money is much, much better.
Whilst it’s nice to feel appreciated, I couldn’t really give a [zb] whether they appreciate what I do or not, as long as they keep giving me work and paying me for it I know I can’t be doing a bad job
not any more
but i love the job
Pretty much yes, money is great, new motors and im home every night,so it could be a lot worse

couldnt really care if i am or not they company i work for is small and everyone gets on boss seems to appreciate what i do but so long as he makes money i make money and thats all im bothered about.
It can vary from drop to drop. I know my immediate bosses appreciate what I do especially when I end up doing extra stuff I don’t need to, however I know that any further up the chain and I’m just a number. Sometimes the customers at the drops make me feel appreciated but quite often they treat you as if you’ve just run over their dog, abused their grandmother and burnt down their domestic abode.

Yes, he could always look in the mirror and tell him straight
Im appreciated when I say YES and im loathed when I say NO… ■■■■ them.
yes i do after a long time working for firms that treat you like something they stood in
im well looked after on rmc
Yes very much so. It’s a friendly company, the bosses have time for a chat and in three and a half years I’ve never had a cross word with anybody. Don’t get me wrong I know their my boss and not friend and if I made a major mistake I may be out the door but as things stand I love it here.
Nope,
but I like my hours and salary, so I guess we’re kinda using each other.
On agency but working mainly for one customer. Having worked there regularly for the last three years, I get treated the same as their own drivers. They don’t object if I go in early to get a bit of overtime, I get to choose from whatever wagons are in the yard and they just let you get on with the job. The only time the phone rings is usually to find out what time you’re going to be finished so they know when to put the kettle on!
The work is easy (No Handball!) and a shift is very rarely longer than 10 hours - so no complaints from me!
On our firm, if you say yes to everything they ask…they treat ya good n proper…if like me, your a rebellious ol git…you get treated with the utmost contempt…and i have the pleisure of returning that complement on a daily basis.

I’m glad he said it’s a male; I was expecting him to respond that it’s his mother!
