Do you feel appreciated in your job?

Simple question. Discuss…For the record. I do.

Nah, I feel used. That’s Agency for ya, well it is with mine.

the longer it goes on the more i feel conned :exclamation: :exclamation: .seriously NO,when you work for a big firm your just a number, some believe there more but they eventually find out there not any better thought of there just easier to abuse

i work for the COOP, their quite big so we believe, and cant even pay me correctly, so the is a big NO :imp:

I do i am lucky enough to work for a small family company there is only 5 drivers we are all on first name terms with the boss downwards.
We have company BBQ"s ,curry nights, xmas parties always free now i dont think i could work for a large company again

nope ,being treated like dirt

no :open_mouth:

NO

Just a bum in a seat, the office cat gets treated better :imp:

Not really ,all our firm care about is that loaded trailers go out on time and all the shops get their delivery and it comes back empty .
They make noises about H&S ,but they dont really care till someone gets hurt then they panic like ■■■■.
like someone else said we’re all just a number at our place.

50/50 in my job.The bad parts are when im parked behind a truck in lane 1 with its brakes locked on and another truck driver goes past and gives me the coffee bean hand gesture.
I dont drive the truck with it’s brakes locked on,I didn’t service it and I cannot repair or move it so I dont see why I get the [zb] sign
But then I assist a lone female with small baby who has been side swiped by a foreign truck, who is in a bit of shock, has no idea how to exchange details with a non-english speaking, foreign driver, who is shouting at her ,despite the collision being his fault and I sort out her paperwork and her recovery then the small amount of abuse I get from the very small minority of drivers (cars and trucks) makes it worthwhile
And these days, being in a fairly well paid, fairly secure job, with decent kit is something to be grateful for anyway.

yes.

i barely speak to rob once a week, he knows i know what im doing and just leaves me and daz alone to get on with it.

I work out of lea green and its just a joke, health and safety within the co-op is a joke, the bigger the firm the smaller the number you are. SO NO

I feel quite fortunate, I enjoy the work I do and in the current climate I feel I am reasonably well paid, the kit is fairly new and well maintained and everything is done by the book. The management are polite and never ask the impossible. The hours are a bit un-sociable, but transport today is often like that. I consider myself to be quite lucky to be working at all at the moment.

working for B.T for an agency, they make you feel welcome! also did NHS DHL and they make you feel like [zb]!

Yes and no

There’s just two of us drivers, I’ve got the Hiab rigid and the other a lowloader so our work load is fairly defined although I can offload some of my small plant moves if busy. Mostly I’m left to my own devices, hours not questioned and paid accordingly at a respecable rate. Sometimes I feel that I should paint the truck orange or yellow as they company only really seem to focus their attention on the plant itself, our trucks are old and past their sell by date, trying to keeping them in good order is a task and any expense in that direction seems to be resented.

However deep down I think that my opinion and diligence is appreciated, I have been consulted about the spec for a replacement vehicle and have made a list of suggestions, requirements / requests as to what I feel is needed to do my job to the best of my ability. It was certainly noted and investigated, whether anything of it materialises remains to be seen though.

No…& I havent for the past five years!

Hi guys ‘n’ girls, long long long time lurker, first time poster here.
Ive worked for alot of the big companys, just about had enough of trucking now after about 22 years in the game.
Done Wincanton (Argos), done Stobarts (Stoke), done SW Group & most of the firms in Telford.
At DHL freight multi dropping with a 44 tonner at the moment, but the CSA have just about put me on the dole this week, good thing or bad…Dunno, I would like to say its very bad but Im on the verge of jacking it all in anyhow.
The only time Ive really felt appreciated was when I was an OD, couldnt make it pay so I packed it in.

In my honest opinion its a mugs game now, fine for robots, no chuffin good for me.

In all fairness, i am treated well, money is above average, left alone all the time but our wagons are well overdue for replacement. They like people to know that we are just a number, its on our shirts, jackets, coats, fleece’s polo shirts, bobble hats and even down the side of the wagons…worse for me cus i pull a curtainsider so the numbers are B I G G E R

Yeh I feel appreciated, whether its genuine appreciation for the work I do or just because I’ve made the boss richer is another thing but a little thankyou or well done goes a long way, if I get a little cash bonus to go with it that’s all good too

A big NO im just a money making machine working for a tight assed boss.He pays time and a half after 8 hrs but tries his best to get me finished befo0re ive done the 8 hrs :imp:

most of the time
