I started off in electronics for the MOD, then into PC engineering, then re-trained to become a programmer… I thought that was an ace job, as I got to stretch the grey stuff, and was given alot of responsability, but office politics got in the way, and I quit…

Found myself driving 7.5t’ers, which was a HUGE pay drop, but loved driving so stuck with it… Then 2yrs later, completely free, I had my Class1

I haven’t looked back ONCE… I wouldn’t go back to computers if you payed me 3 times as much…

Driving trucks is totally ace… :sunglasses:

Love driving, as said by previous postees,

different view out of the window,
Every day is different of course, cos the traffic is never the same, nor the weather!
meet some good people out there, and some bad ones,
everyday I learn something new, normally from the steve wright factoids! :laughing:

And even better now I’m on 30k a year! :smiley:

Hi guys…first post :smiley:
I’ve been in the transport business now, for 27 years, and I have to say, I really enjoy it :laughing:
I’m class C, and my job pretty much is opening a curtain, and saying "That’s your pallets there bud ! "
… A bit like “semi retirement” :laughing:
Every day is different, and that makes it more interesting. The only thing wrong with it,
is the amount of "Fuggen Muppets out there with us every day :cry: I make sure that I keep myself right,
and then watch out for the Kermits and Miss Piggys in their dodgems :unamused:

Yip in agreement with the majority love doing the job despite some of the muppets we need to deal with on a day to day basis,
And lets face it the comfort in some of the trucks are better than some houses lol
