Disgusted with UK over foreign drivers at border

Franglais:

Odd days:
When you say have been is that in the past, or I guess what was inferred is are you employed in uk now at present and paying paye uk tax or living somewhere else. Other wise it sounds a bit like a answer a politician would say, open ended and not actually an answer.

I am now, Dec 2020, fully UK domiciled, employed, PAYE, pension, NI, etc etc etc…clear? That will be changing soon though.
I have for a long time been intending to retire to warmer climes, ie France.
So long as we have had freedom of movement I planned on taking advantage of that, and still intend to do so. I think its a crying shame that the UK has voted against that freedom for new students, workers and retirees. Such a pity that the younger generation wont have the opportunity we have had.

The younger generation of students?

Let’s see what the Turing scheme looks like with its apparent broader scope than Erasmus…but then it’s a far larger world than simply the EU

‘I an NOW’

The cynic in me suggests you’re being careful with your choice of words.

I do try to be careful in my choice of words, yes.
Most of the time I do manage to spell the “two letter” words correctly. Generally I find that easier when I have the correct spelling to copy from. How about you?

You do?
Well done…blame the decent single malt.

I find such care is usually deliberately disingenuous and doubt the Erasmus opportunity was likely ever an issue for you

I hope that the Turing Enrichment Scheme is more of a success than the other plans of Johnson…
Plans and promises are plentiful and cheap.

Ah…we shall have to see.

Funny how a scheme enjoyed by a privileged minority is so key to an expat.
Almost like you’re grasping for a grievance.
Still… enjoy Brexit.
We’re all leavers now

These other plans…leaving for example?

Odd days:
Why should the uk jump at midnight because the French say so, who is paying for all this ? The drivers, the French, or has the uk got to cover the costs. Also do you have a magic cupboard you can pull health workers etc at midnight to do this at a moment notice. This is all down to the French nobody else, apart from China cooking it up in the first place.

I do not care who says jump and when because all that matters is getting those drivers home for Xmas

The UK knew this testing was going to happen so should have had it all in place yesterday

To be fair the majority of those trucks where not going to be home regardless of the ban with a fair few countries celebrate 24th and 25th rather than Boxing Day and with most of Poland being a 2 day drive Lithuania 3 days
