Driving home from work today there was a lorry from a company which I won’t mention, we’ll refer to it as lorry B, and a Nisa, both artics.
There’s a roundabout, and off the roundabout there’s two lanes on which you can enter the dual carriageway, lorry B had taken to the right line at the very beginning of the dual carriageway, it then took a further, full 1.9 miles exactly for him to get ALONGSIDE the Nisa lorry, I thought, surely this fella is going to realise that he isn’t going to get in in time for the next roundabout and swallow his pride and slot back in but no, and by this time there were lots of cars getting impatient understandably, Nisa driver not backing off to let Lorry B in and Lorry B not backing off to slot back in for the r/about.
So, both lorry’s try to enter the roundabout at the same time, Nisa on the outside and Lorry B on the inside obviously and I’m already thinking one of them has to back off or there’s going to be an accident here, but no, both try to enter the roundabout at the same time, Nisa is forced to take to the kerb and nearly topples the trailer and lorry b ends up kerbing the trailer going round the roundabout and the same nearly happens to him, and thats the trailer nearly toppling over into the Nisa artic as it was a very heavy walking floor.
Usually I’m not one to complain but I mean surely, if you want to dice with death and kill yourself at least make sure you won’t kill anyone else in the process, and as a hgv driver myself it disgusted me that neither one of them would yield, more so lorry B.
If you were the Nisa driver would you of yielded? Part of me thinks why should he, but at the same time if it was me I would just have clicked back a few ks and let the idiot go.

Sounds like they were both licence holders,if not at least the driver of ‘B’ was,not truck ‘drivers’.There’s not usually enough room for an artic and a car to get through many roundabouts side by side let alone two artics. You’ll know if it’s a ‘driver’ when you see lorry (or car) B back off before the roundabout and let Nisa etc go through first.Whereas if Nisa etc backs off it’s likely that B will still run out of road and then catch Nisa’s front offside corner on entry.

Yeah the Nisa lorry would have to have backed off quite a bit for lorry b to go through without getting squeezed, and your right it does feel tight when I’m on the inside of that particular roundabout with an artic on my outside (ie when i’m driving home). I just make sure they have left me enough room/they have enough room before ‘making progress’.
It seems like a regular occurrence for me, backing off for lorry drivers that don’t want to be stuck behind a slow wagon, I just let them get on with it and try to keep as far away from these crap drivers as possible.
If I was nisa I would have just backed off, its not worth it.
Why do people find the need to take part in such public displays of willy waving. If you want to wave your privates find somewhere private so the public don’t have to watch
Nah neither guesses are right, it’s a company local to here and I’ve spoke of them before on here. Not massively popular but reasonably well known as they’re colour of their lorries is a bit different.
