Biggest thing really, is just to watch what your doing when making a manual entry after inserting the card. You can put other work instead of rest.
Make sure and wait until the card has been read successfully before moving off, just a minute or 2 but that gives you time to start your walk around checks anyway.
Watch what happens when you switch the ignition off, just to check your on the correct mode.
If you have ANY problems, do a manual printout and write your explanation on the back, keep for 28 days and then hand in to the office.
Also, just ask someone at the company to show you, I don’t mind admitting that I had to ask someone the first time I used one, quickly becomes second nature, and so mush less fuss and more detailed than a disc. Enjoy.
No way would want to go back to a tacho ever again.

Yes tacho disc, it seems really dated now.
If the lorry stops for a few minutes when in heavy congestion, some digi tachos add more time to actual driving time.
Ask for help to do a manual entry.
You are told to start work at 7 am but your truck is in the garage or done a night shift.
You get in the lorry at 8 am, so to match the start time to the work records, a manual entry to tell the tacho the start time of 7 am.
When booking on and off duty, finish by pressing the UK button.
On a night out, most driver’s eject the card as turning the ignition on and off in the night
Will mess up the tacho mode to record daily rest.

I would say a Fossil is older than an Antique

An antique (Latin: antiquus; “old”, “ancient”) is an old collectable item. It is collected or desirable because of its age, beauty, rarity, condition, utility, personal emotional connection, and/or other unique features. It is an object that represents a previous era or time period in human society.
I’ll go with this thanks
Fossils (from Classical Latin fossilis; literally, “obtained by digging”)[1] are the preserved remains or traces of animals, plants, and other organisms from the remote past.

Digital all the way for me, when I have to drive one of the trucks with an analogue tacho I have a little ‘ffs’ moment to myself then get on with it.
Once you get used to digital you’ll love it, so much easier.
My advice (for what it might be worth)is go on youtube type in your make of digital tacho unit there you will find tutorials that cover all aspects of using the kit.
Fossil vs Antique debate was interesting. It seems boredom/■■■■■■■■■■ are essential skills for the experienced driver.
As a newish driver(and somewhat immature),I find these infantile discussions very amusing.
