That asks more questions than it answers!
Wayne Rooney?

Now, I’d say Based on the clues…
A bridge, Derbyshire, lorry, and stuck…
I’d head for Appleton as my first port of call…[emoji6]

Anybody seen dozy?
Dozy, Stobart and bridge …What could possibly go wrong
Was it Paul Gascoigne ?
Is this a frustrated woman who just realised what she was missing or is it some over zealous trap to catch a friendly driver for breaking social distancing rules, he had already kissed the bridge with his vehicle.

As it’s Derbys police, this, definitely ^.

as sad as the reality of todays mumsnet snowflake attitude to woodentops pc correct life in the uk is today, then i have to agree with the above coments.
although,
it dont say what cheek he kissed her on,
and it also dont mention if he had his ■■■■ out at the same time??
could it be covid related… just saying like…
Surely the woman would know what time it was ,there’s an anpr cam just before the bridge .

I think this was the same old lady who went to the police station yesterday,
Her, ‘I was ■■■■■■■■ assaulted’
Policeman, ‘when did it happen’
Her, ‘1987’
Policeman, ‘and your just reporting it now ?’
Her, ‘no I just want to talk about it’
Story update : Twitter campaign not gone to plan, Police still seeking suspect.

So not only as Wheel Nut said above, but also trying to do him and get him on the ■■■ Offenders register too.
Presumably all the murder and burglary cases in Derbyshire have been solved for them to be persuing this? Oh wait no, that would be too much like hard work when you’ve got low-hanging fruit like this to pick instead. /s
BBC:
Derbyshire Police said the unwanted kiss fell under the ■■■■■■ Offences Act 2003.The force said the victim, a woman in her 70s, was “very distressed, especially at a time when close contact with strangers is to be avoided” and added: “We take all allegations of this nature extremely seriously.”
I’m not suggesting for a moment that his actions in kissing/thanking the women for whatever she did to get him out of the fix he was in was a good idea - it was certainly injudicious in the current climate, but in the grand scheme of things it’s a complete nonevent and the plod should be politely telling the woman to jog on rather than persuing the driver who I’m fairly confident acted with good intent.

So that raises the question do the Police feel unable to make a judgement call on what is a crime and what isn’t and they are happy to try to get a suspect up before a judge and let the lawyers sort it out or if the complainant feels a crime is committed it’s not their place to try and advise otherwise so carry on with something that sounds like a word of advice would suffice let alone a FPN or anything more significant.
Ahhhh, I remember a time when “getting stuck” under a low bridge would’ve been the headline.
First he violated the bridge but he wasn’t satisfied so decided to violate an elderly woman too!
Out of professional interest, how exactly did “a woman in her 70s” help a driver with a “lorry stuck under a low bridge”?

This thought did cross my mind too.
