I wouldn’t want to drive one but they work fine in europe & scaninavia & the roads there are no wider.

Denby have been lobbying for these trucks for years.
I wouldn’t like to see them on all UK roads.
However, like in Holland, they make good sense if they are restricted to certain routes, trunking between sites with suitable roads and access. i. e. Purpose built industrial estates adjacent to motorways such as Crick and Trafford Park.
I don’t understand what road width has to do with it, are Dutch trucks wider than uk ones…? If the standard of driving in the UK was raised all round then I don’t think it’d be a major issue

If you restrict them to specific routes like they do In Holland, then there shouldn’t be a problem…

For once I would totaly agree with what Pimpdaddy has posted , I would also add I work for a company who would have you on multi-drop work in town and cily centre`s with a truck like this .
Of course this going to happen, only a matter of time. I think they will be great.
I personally think we could do with two 45ft trailers for night trunking, they could even put a time curfew on it, 7pm till 7am for e.g

If they use these…what happens when the ‘approved’ route is shut because of an accident and they have to divert off onto a B road somewhere…? And it’s night trunk time and there are dozens and dozens and dozens of them diverting?
The general public will hate us even more and attempt to ovetake when they haven’t a chance of getting past…
And finally it will put some more folk out of work…

An extra few metres won’t threaten anyone’s job, and if it did it would be counterbalanced by jobs in smaller trucks running from the big depots the super truck delivered too, fact is people hate change. It scares them
