11 years class 2 at the same company, now moving on to pastures new for first class 1 job.Always kept my head down and got on with what ever was put in front of me and caused no fuss.only 3 days sick in said 11 years so consider myself to be a decent egg. Walked out of the office for the final time today without so much as a cheers or a good luck!!.Feel totally deflated. Well F you VC, i’m well rid.
Good man, Good luck with the new job!!!
that does seem to be the norm these days, don’t look back just carry on to better things, and good luck on your travels
Its an unpleasant way to end, but in a way its a good thing too, for it reinforces that you are doing the right thing by clearing off and won’t be wondering for weeks to come if you’ve done the right thing…onward and upward.
You can of course pay them back by recommending your best ex colleagues to your new employer if they’re thinking of moving on…

All the best in the new one shag.
Thanks fellas. I’m over the dejection already (kind of ) !!. Onward and upward with towing that trailer thingy about !!
Don’t worry about that thing behind…as long as you get the front through eh!
Are you new to artics then?
Yes Shropsbri i’m a newbie.Passed end of October last year.Been searching about but didn’t really want agency and have been lucky enough to get a go with a certain dairy company. MOO
For those wet behind the ears like my self class 1 wise,Spread yourself and your CV far and wide and the phone WILL ring (eventually).
Good lad OP never look back
THEY’RE NOT WORTHY!
just a number
24262■■?
still remember my last three from 1978
Ideal! You’ll spank it shag with you not being a newbie as such…you’ve done 11 years on the others.
Just remember…cows like salty things so be careful where you ■■■■ in the farmyard
Your so valued that they will probably ring you on Monday and bollock you for not turning up on time… Lol
I’ll agree definitely just a number but to be fair you got a thanks every week/month when you got paid. I agree with your sentiments but as an employer/employee situation it’s very different to a ‘friendship’!
Good luck anyway
Just a thought, do you think they could’ve forgot i was actually leaving today ?..Yeah that’s it, that’s why there were no banners, marching bands, tea and cakes and …Sorry lads, i feel this episode today has affected me far more than i’m willing to let on and should probably go to bed now and cry until the morning !!!

I wouldn’t class that as a thanks,it’s a necessity to me.

Works both ways really - you thank them for the work, they thank you with the money! It’s not favours for mates.

Aye that’s the truth…like John Wayne said in one of his films…‘I’m not doing you any favours giving you a job,you work,I pay you’
Even so, with your man above having done eleven years, you’d think think a good luck might be floating around somewhere.
