Good lord, not me! 600 is a bit low

Make the most of it mate, nearly 2 yr old now isn’t she? Gotta be due a Scanny 500 again soon

Amazes me how many people think a two year old truck is due for replacement! To put it in perspective my previous truck is still on the fleet four and a half years later so I doubt I’ll be swapping anytime soon!

It amazes me too,I drive a 2003 fh12 and she ain’t getting replaced anytime soon either.
You get what you pay for with a truck and if you buy a decent one and give it to a decent driver who looks after it then it will go for years,

I didn’t think that at all! I was in fact referring to the fact that you had your previous truck for about two years, I asked as after watching all 119 of your Vlogs I was genuinely interested, I think by your curt reply you thought I was having a dig? Not so… Oh well, Onward!

Nope didn’t take it as a dig, just keep getting asked when I’m having a new lorry. There’s only one reason I only had previous one two years and that’s because this particular one was bought to celebrate an anniversary therefore it had to be 2012 that’s all. There is no fixed truck replacement here. This is my fourth truck at Virginia and my second brand new one yet some drivers have had no new lorries in that time and others who got a brand new DAF last year and have just been given a new R620. Luck of the draw, or face fitting

I was driving a 56 plate Merc with over 850,000Km’s on the clock and that is staying on the fleet.

Why do people bash Axors? I drove a demonstrator, and enjoyed it. It did everything needed of it. In fact I’d be happy if my boss bought me a secondhand one to replace my wagon.
Actually I’ll drive a Hino, Iveco or Leyland Constructor aslong as I keep the nice easy number I’ve got now.

The steering wheel is that big that when i drive one i feel like im 5 years old again playing in my dads car !!

i cant get comfy because of it and i keep bashing my elbow off the door when maneuvering !!

Muckaway:
What’s wrong with the large steering wheel? If a bit of trim falls off, throw it away. I did, that MAN I drove was missing the cup holder, centre draw, and a piece of plastic off the seat…It all went in the tipper. I don’t know what MAN thought though when it’s contract lease ended.

Like the old Land Rovers with 3 seats, you had to drive with the window open or you put your elbow through it!

a place i do shifts for has MAN’s…they are alright but the steering wheel is too big and they are hesitant when moving off !!

Apparently the steering wheel is that big so that the wheels can still be turned in the event of power assistance failing.

I’ve been dragged by a loading shovel in a dead MAN and I confirm that the massive steering wheel does [zb] all.

So much for that theory then! Although I am not convinced by the other answer.

Im not arsed wether your convinced or not, the reason i posted is right, your theory is just driver bs heard in a waiting room

Oh sorry did you design it? I think I read it here but then again most of the stuff on here is driver bs, I haven’t been near a waiting room for years.

Unless you are an owner driver, I don’t see what it matters if you drive something that doesn’t fit in with your ego. We are paid to drive a truck to a professional standard and provided the vehicle is in good roadworthy condition, free of defects etc we get on with the job in hand.

I’ve driven some crap trucks in my time and do have preferences for certain marques, but I’m not buying the truck, just getting paid for driving it. I’ve never had the ‘pleasure’ of day work (prefering nights out), and I can say with all honesty I’ve never had a bad nights sleep in any truck that’s been built within the last 30 years (prior to that was a different story). My only limitation is to whom I would work for, and even then I can only think of 2 that I would avoid like the plague.

Tiger.

I suppose that the real drivers of the fifties who drove Dodges and Commers, and had to sleep across the seats without a night heater (or any heater at that…) would feel your pain…

Iveco Turbo, all the way \m/

Renault trucks are basically a Volvo chassis with Volvo driveline, with a Renault cab…

Is the cab even Renault? I was told it was made by Paccar in the States.

Thats sounds like a bit of a myth to me.

The small Renault is also a DAF LF and Volvo FL cab, so possible…

It’s a joint venture between Renault and Daft, Volvo use it as they own Renault. It’s made by Renault though. Also used on Mack, Kenworth and Peterbilt chassis in the US.

That last post is a prime example of how we all like different things for different reasons. I love the Merc and would never choose a MAN if I had the chance to. The MAN always has an air of cheap 1995 Nissan Micra to me when it comes to the interior. Not awful as such just incredibly boring.

But I thought…
