DCPC Who is going to wait

Gas fitters have to do a periodic competence check, and docs are going to have to do the same.

As I say, I think you’d have a job to convince the public that periodic training was a bad thing.

:open_mouth: Sorry mate, but you really have swallowed the official blurb/propoganda/ bull sh… hook, line, and sinker :unamused: , the more cynical amongst us don’t believe everything we are drip fed, and see the true hidden agenda for what it really is, but fair play to you if you are making a few quid on the side out of it.

…or maybe it’s just pointless trying to put an opposing point of view to a conspiracy theorist

  Yeh maybe, heres a conspiracy theory for you, the government have removed the word “gullible” from the dictionary :open_mouth: … check it out for me will you.

Nurses have to do 35 hours training every 5 years. Sounds familiar

Yes! But do the Nurses pay for it out of their own wedge! I don’t think so! HTH :unamused:

Which was the point I was making about where the funding comes from.

I suspect that some freelance nurses who are self-employed and doing agency (as many do) may have to fund their own training.

And no I’m not a training provider or a trainer.

Is it just me! The “Official Blurb” is there’s a driver shortage in the UK and across the EU so the lefties in Brussels or where ever they choose to meet these days decide to increase the cost of gaining an LGV license with additional costs for further “Training”! :unamused:

Only jobs created will be for Trainers! I will wait for the massive pay rises that will come about from 2014 as we will be more professional from Sept that year with a plastic card to prove it! Oh! And have to repeat the exercise for every 5 year period after!

I think a lot of old and cynical drivers who really want to give the job up and reckon the training is just another way of making money from drivers have missed a trick.

Why don’t you become trainers, :open_mouth: most of you think you know more than them anyway.

Regular hours, home every night, no hassle with VOSA etc, and it will be easy for men with your level of experience. You can tell class after class of young whippersnappers all about the time you were stuck on Shap in an AEC and had to burn your log books to keep warm and had to chew your own leg off to stay alive.

There’s less of a driver shortage than there was as there are 20,000 fewer trucks on the road now than there were in 2008.

I would be happier with the DCPC if the courses were practical and relevent to the job that I do. Watching you tube videos and listening to piffle about why the trainer is not being allowed to build a lock up garage on his own property wont really make me or any one else more competent at the wheel.A blind man can see that the thing needs changing or withdraw it and come back with a properly thought out set of courses.

So! How many freelance nurses are there in the NHS? At least in the private hospitals the nurses are I assume paid a professional wage! Unlike the transport industry! Are you aware that Lorry driving is not even recognised as a profession for emigration purposes unlike Nursing? :unamused:
At least a Nurse has a better chance of getting away from the ■■■■■■■■ that are EU regulations! HTH

Who’s being gullible here? I’m not the one berating the rules that i’m willingly subscribing to by means of continuing to work under those very rules I’m against, then claiming there’s one huge conspiracy. Not only that, I would summise that you are actively encouraging these rules by earning your wage and paying your taxes to the very organisation (the government) you claim is out to control you. Who is the gullible one my friend?

What exactly have you done to redress or change the things you are complaining about (aside from sounding off on what in the bigger picture is nothing more than an insignificant online forum)? If you are not prepared to stand by your convictions, I suggest you either stop moaning, change industries, or do something about it.

And I thought that was because of the economy! Or maybe because of 15.6m trailers!

Or could it be because of companies hitting the wall through over regulation and cheap foreign labour for larger competitors! :stuck_out_tongue:

:bulb: What a bloody brilliant idea!! and I could come on here with me rose coloured specs, trying to convince experienced drivers to pay up and smile, and educate them in what a worthwile beneficial legislation this is, and nothing at all to do with revenue raising,…Oh hang on!..too late, a few on here have beat me to it and are already doing it

:open_mouth: Why should I or anybody else,( my friend :unamused:) leave my job as a token gesture just because I strongly disagree with a nonsensical bit of legislation, and what in your infinite wisdom would you suggest that I or any likeminded driver in the real world, could possibly do against the might of the EU to convince them to do away with it. Perhaps you have not grasped the concept of an online forum, insignificant or otherwise. I give my opinion on here as does everybody else, that is what it is all about, or am I missing something? if you interprete it as moaning just because it differs with yours, that is your prerogative, you could apply your ill thought out synopsis about changing industries to any subject thread on here.

It’s part of the EU master plan robroy! Browbeat the taxpayer with ■■■■■■■■ till its accepted as normality! And woe betide you oppose their ■■■■■■■■! They’ll send Bev Bellbottom round to close you down!

I would consider being a trainer! But it’s too expensive! And I really really don’t want to listen to a roomful of drivers moaning like I used to hear at Tesco and suchlike!

I think most NHS hospitals use agency nurses…or they did when I was going out with one!

Nurses working in private nursing homes often do have to fund and look for their own training. Nurses also have to pay £68 per year to be a nurse and this is soon to rise to £100 per year and they do have to comply with EU regulations. (Info source: my missus  )

Anyway some of the people complaining on this forum have the DCPC paid for by their company thus negating some of this argument…

I wonder if there is a Nurses forum! And if they moan as hard as some do on here? :stuck_out_tongue:

 They probably do moan as much but they do not have a choice unfortunately. The NHS do not fund the annual registration fee and considering many nursing homes only pay nurses £10-11 but nothing extra for weekends or nights, I think this is a good comparison to the DCPC.
