Hello all, passed my c2 and c1 in 2010 and been driving c1 since, but i havent done any cpc yet. When i say any i mean it. Been told to do it be4 2015. So i thought no rush does it mean that im illegal now? i need to do module4 before any other modules can take place. Any ideas? Thank you
You shouldn’t be driving at all
I was told i needed my Mod 4 before i could drive for a living and i passed in 2011. I also had to do a Mod 2 before the Mod 4 as you need the pass number from Mod 2 to take Mod 4
I stand to be corrected
Hgv2 and hgv1■■? 2009 pass class one or two you’d have had to pass an initial DCPC to get a full DQC would you not?
periodic by 2014 to be fully trained till sept 2019! We have grandfather rights till 2014! DO YOU?
You seem confused about your licences and tests.
Do you mean Cat C and Cat C+E?
Did you hold a C1 (7.5 tonne) licence before you took your Cat C.
Have a look at your licence, and we’ll try to sort out what you need to do.
Once you have passed you must always carry the card with you when your driving. CPC card that is.

only if you’re a new driver! then in 2014 everyone who is qualified, and has a DQC must carry it so vostapa, police and beverley bell can inspect it willy nilly! Yawn!

1 - If you passed your car test before 1997 you have until 09/09/2014 to get 35 hours of periodic dcpc
2 - If you passed you car test after 1996 then when you did the C you should have also done initial dcpc modules 2 and 4 in which case you will already have a DQC (driver cpc card) which will have an expiry date some time in 2015
This being the case then you have until that DQC expiry date to get 35 hours of periodic dcpc
3 - you passed car test after 1996 and did not pass initial dcpc mods 2 and 4 in which case you have been driving commercial LGVs illegally since 2010 !!
Are you senario 1 or 2 or 3 ?
ROG my man, you appear to be the person to ask any question to.
I have passed the Initial qualification and have my DQC. I have since done 22 hours of continuation training because ND want all of their drivers singing from the same hymn sheet. If I then clock another thirteen hours by 2014, working through it with the drivers that got the acquired rights exemption, would I then have until 2021 to do another five days training, or would a new DQC be issued as soon as I hit five days and expire in 2019?

assuming you’ve done periodic training, uploads are 7 hrs each so you’ve done 21hrs with 14 hrs to do! now I’m thinking that you’ve a DQC from 2009 so you’re qualified till 2014? Look at your DQC!
once you’ve done your next 35hours periodic training ( I mean handing your hard earned over ) cough, cough!
that’ll qualify you for another five years and that goes on till you HANG UP YOU KEYS!

DQC has an expiry date so when you complete the 35 hours at any time before that date then 5 years will get added to that expiry date
Just seen your DQC is expiry dated 2016 so the next expiry date will be 2021
You have until whatever date that is in 2016 to get 35 hours done

You must stop driving commercially now and pass initial LGV dcpc modules 2 and 4 so that you can drive commercially - that is the legal stance but what you do is up to you
No periodic training will count until you have passed initial mods 2 and 4 so do not bother doing any until you have
And if your stopped then it’s bye bye license
In all it cost me £30 for mod 2 and £162 for mod 4 which is a piece of â– â– â– â–

Ill get in touch with my driving school and get it booked straight away and get crackin n learnin all that. What will happen if get pulled over? Cuz i still have to get to my depot tomorrow
Trucker8oy:

£1000 fine for you and the same for the employer I think - no penalty points - they will probably prevent you driving any further
I believe VOSA has started issuing fixed penalties to drivers in your position.
There’s some background here truckingtopics.co.uk/vosaclarifiesdri.html about what counts as driving for DCPC purposes. It seems you can’t even take a truck for annual test without one.
I suspect a lot of crusty old fitters are going to get caught out.
So literally im screwed untill i do it. I hope i will get back to my depot tomorrow. Aint driving after that until i get my modules 2 and 4 done. Do u know how long it takes to do it?
