Dazed and Confused

I have read our esteemed Dr posts, and in my professional opinion as a less than educated truck driver, I feel that unless he can join in within the spirit of the community,he should flounce off, as his consent demeaning comments regarding us shining knights of the royal highways,is not becoming, and I may feel, that I need to seek retribution on the field of combat, my gauntlet is raised, and it’s impending contact with the Dr’s face,to meet me on the field to restore our pride and honour, I feel I may seek :unamused:

Join in the spirit you say? I can join in the spirit when people are civil but unfortunately that has not really happened on here.
Now you want a square go eh? I wont say anymore.Maybe I will just flounce off as you put it.
By the way are you ex military?

Damon.

PS At one time there were many Knights of the Road.Changed days fella.

Sir you came onto this forum, spouting and blustering, and I will quote you a paragraph slightly modified from a great leader of men

“You sowed the wind, you are now receiving the wirlwind”

A wirlwind your sure it not something much bigger thats goin to destroy everything in its path.

Dr Damon:
Captain Caveman I hope your not trying to catch me out now**.Drivers hours do not really bother me** as I do not do any real long shifts or nights out anymore.
In the early days when I first drove wagons we had log books. Now they were were even easier than a tacho to fiddle if you were that way inclined.

Not, I’m not trying to catch you out. I do find it interesting that even though the majority of your posts criticise modern driving standards (and drivers), you’re happy to ignore the most basic of regulation which have been put in place to protect ALL road users.

I do hope the Dr has gone to bed, as he might a have a busy day tomorrow, trying to think of other ways to attack the community, I say let’s grow a shrubbery,to defend our self’s.

Goodnight Dr.

Maybe you shouldn’t scrutinize drivers on here who put a shift in week in week out.

Why not? Of course I will scrutinize driver that drive dangerously. We all work week in week out but we all do not put others at risk during working hours.

I think most drivers will not admit to being dangerous drivers, in fact although we all witness dangerous driving - I would wager those who do it would probably have no ability to recognise it.

I’m not in favour of driverless trucks, not until they can prove the technology can out-think a driver. On many occasions an experienced driver will recognise developing issues caused by the actions of drivers approaching from behind. Certainly at the moment the technology struggles with what’s happening ahead.

Far too many ifs & buts right now.

Not saying never - just not any time soon.

Thanks for a civil reply with your honest thoughts.Thats what I was hoping for at the start but I think I got it wrong or something.
I am not if favour of driverless trucks either but unfortunately it is going to happen whether we like it or not.

Seems to me LARGER vehicles need to be the last cog in this evolution. One of the greatest pitfalls of the current technology is it over-reacts to the lane jumpers. In short, needs to be in the cars, motorbikes, vans etc - before it can be trusted in trucks.

Only when the rest of road users are singing from the same sheet can it be safe in trucks. IMO.

I think most drivers will not admit to being dangerous drivers, in fact although we all witness dangerous driving - I would wager those who do it would probably have no ability to recognise it.

Nail on head fella

I’m sure Dr Dre on here is a reincarnation of some mediocre troll that has recently ceased - thinking caps on, chaps - who could it be.

We lorry drivers aren’t good at much but one thing many of us excel at its the ability to see through bull plops and pop large but fragile egos. God bless and goodnight

and the name of the next victim is■■?

You are a clever lot summing up my post extremely well with your childish ignorant replies.
Let me reply to a few with pleasure…

robroy if you think the RHA is doing well and we have a high standard of drivers you are one deluded fella.

colin-scottish you sum up the average truck driver brilliantly.

joeyd Where is my evidence…doh…are you blind? The evidence is in accidents like the one a few days ago and the many others where we see lorries ploughing into the back of other vehicles amongst other things.
Also I see it with my own eyes almost everyday on the road I see aggression and accidents waiting to happen.Drive round the M25 at anytime and tell me we are the best drivers!
If you believe these statistics you have a lot to learn fella.

Duffman that is your prerogative but I can assure you it is true. You say I came on with a bad attitude? Try reading my first post again sunshine and explain the bad attitude please.

Pat what the hell is pyschic? Dear oh dear.

DD999 Sorry but unfortunately I am not psychic!

I know the truth hurts sometimes but the more astute amongst you will know what I say is very true.

Damon.

You really are a ■■■■ aren’t you?

OK Mr big shot how many Lorries are on the road in the UK per year?

And what percentage of them are involved in fatal accidents? Just fatal accidents.

How many other vehicles cars and light goods vehicles are on the road per year in the UK?

What percentage of these are involved in fatalities each year?

Answer those with statistics and sources and then we can see what’s what.

So another new member receives a nice warm welcome from those who believe themselves to be popular. No doubt anyone who isn’t stupid will look at this and others and consider their position before joining and their approach if they do.

No doubt all the one liners of abuse will follow with the ironic word troll attached… genuine irony. Interesting for a forum that does not permit light profanity. Wake up admin… your advertisers are observing.

JJ

To help you understand the response he got, try this.

Walk into a Bar full of people you don’t know, tell everyone that you’ve been observing them and that they are all useless ■■■■■■■ and that hopefully they will soon be out of a job, then see how many welcome you and buy you a pint

It’s a first impressions thing, no good joining a conversation then spouting how good your knowledge is on a totally different topic.

The length of time it took to get a reply to your initial post may explain the flouncing though.

Don’t worry it’s the same on all forums and social situations, no good joining and giving it the big un from the get go, worm your way in.

You should see the MI5 intranet forum it’s a flame war when a noob first joins giving it the whole ‘James Bond’ big bollox speech.

Forums are a bit like orgys, eventually the biggest prick will be the most popular but don’t turn up on your first gathering with a floppy.

FFS man up. I’ve not read anything of yours or the abuse you have taken. You are in this thread though coming across like a whiney ■■■ wee ■■■■■.

Take it and give it out, thats what forums are all about.

All he’s done is act like a condescending tw*t since he got here, rubbishing pretty much everyone and then not backing up statements because they might identify him.

As a boss, I know I’m not popular. So there goes one theory. Trucknet has a certain feel to it and if you don’t like it, why join? I’m on a different forum marketed towards middle-age women and, unsurprisingly, the feel there is different and I adapt to it, not expecting evryone to adapt to me.

Good analogy Joey

There’s a reason he got the response he did. If you cant see it, you’re as thick as him

He wont. People like dr ■■■■ are all full of the insults and name calling online but when you meet these people in real life they wont say a word. Its a special kind of button pusher. The kind who only do it online from the safety of their own house anonymously.
Hes best just ripped the ■■■■ out of till he realises his strategy isnt working then he’ll regroup and rejoin with another username. And so the circle continues

Thank you for your offer of help.

If I may… imagine you live in a small village with one pub & every time you look through the windows the locals are ■■■■■■ up, vomiting, generally being antisocial, dragging their knuckles and beating up the incomer.

Do you go into the pub ready for it to kick off or expect a nice warm welcome?

For DD, this is a forum. Everyone is equal, neither the number of posts nor the length of membership should effect that. If you put these bozos in the imaginary pub… most of them would be the little dicks, keeping their heads down… probably with a mobile in their hands ranting at the internet… too dopy for even doggin in a layby… no orgies to be found here… just group ■■■■■■■■■■■■.
