Can any one tell me what is wrong with eating horse meat,i have for one while driving abroad and when your hungry and its on the plate with a pile of chips and an egg sitting on top and its your evening meal that you bin looking forward to all day get in there, cheers Buzzer.

Ha… Quite right JD…
Common knowledge that 'orse meat was on the menu in the old routiers an never a prob.
I remember being with an " O1 er " in Rouen and he ordered steak and said in perfik cockerney to the waitress…" An I want moo moo not effin clip clop "…

Very good Balders, nice to see you back on the old thread are you connected now or have you had to stroll to post HNY by the way,Buzzer.

yes JD am back on … fully megabyte connected, after 3 attempts by the great Orange France telephone wizards! They only charged 59 Euros for each visit…How very reasonable. Guess I’m just lucky they weren’t on strike!

HNY to you and yours.

It’s great seeing the pics of your fleet (and the stories ) However, in my advancing years am more interested in the 'orses , and firewood storage!
Am looking out for you on " Countryfile "

Balders good to see your back connected, you shud not worry about the 59 euros charge and i know now why you are in France. Its common knowlege that you did an exchange for Sarcozy so he could come to Blighty so he does not pay the tax on all his mega wealth and you are his replacement in the Republic as you appear to have bugger all finances so the 75% supertax wont bother you.Ime sure you are enjoying much better weather than we are as we are expecting more snow and for some reason we just cant cope, they should look back at 1963 when i was just a youth and it stayed for three months but every body managed and we did not have hundreds of foreigners to help us.Any way we do get a bit of banter on here and ive selected a picture just for you as you are into the 'orses,it is of the V8 variety and i thik there pulling a waggon full of beer so i will get them to divert round to yours, please email your address for prompt delivery, speak soon cheers Buzzer.

Morning John.Happy days! The snow has gone (Nearly ) and I`ve been able to dig my tin tent out of the drifts.
Re our previous conversation about my roof, would it be possible to descend to Segensworth next week sometime
at a time suitable to yourselves.I have programmed my satnav as its been a long time since I have ventured that far!
I might be able to supply donuts out of my meagre pension.I would like to take a moment to say publicly what a warm
hearted generous person you are.Crawling regards Charlie

Don’t forget yer snow chains for the journey Charlie, just in case. :unamused: :unamused:
Will you be doing it in one hit or overnighting in a routers on the way down ■■

Buzzer…have any of your horses escaped from this place ■■?

Good stuff John…great pic too…
Well done for spotting the reason for leaving the Shires of Hamp…Mainly the tax but also that Sarko was suspicious about my relationship with Carla. I am in constant contact with Gerrard Depardieu regarding moving to Belgium and taking Russian citizenship…
As an aside…is there any driver on this site that ever enjoyed transiting or staying in Belgium?..Hardly a Foreign Country eh? More like Essex without the hills…

Re snow… plenty here! Half a metre… and minus 12… Which brings me to a truck related question…( I can hear about 200 followers of this site saying " thank Buddha for that! This is a truck site not Facebook mate… )
Back in the day we all had snowchains…remember, hung on the back and you prayed you would’t need them (or have to fit them more like! )…Is it improvements in roads etc or tyre technology that they’re not used now in Western Europe??

I await a barrage of replies starting. " Well you Numpty , the reason is…

Charlie the offer is still open for your tin tent wash ime sure Horry will sort it out for you when you arrive as i am not there much these days.

Mappo you always were a bit of a cowboy,i must have bin more relaxed in the old days cos we aint got time for sight seeing nowadays.

Balders seems like you got worse weather than us and i cant remember any one actually fitting snowchains usually as the lock securing them to the truck was always siezed up with salt etc,i suspect Mappo will say he put his chains on just to show what a pioneer he told every one he was,i know he was a bit of a fantasist and wrote every week for the beano but his brother Keith is the real author but aint never got his book in print either.

Richard i cant believe you would only offer a senior citizan an oxo cube for dinner, such a knight of the road as Charlie is you should be killing the fatted calf and if you reconsider the menu let me know and i will come and join you at the table and toast Charlies health, cheeers Buzzer

Many thanks John.I will set off on Tuesday.Bit of a hike, but I`ve still got the skills. Its like riding a bike.Regards Charlie

Thing is Buzzer, as you well know, back in the day our working day/night was more flexible then so we had time for sightseeing
but made up for lost time.

As for the snow chains, i did use them just the once when driving an 88 for Bill Robinson.
It was a particularly bad winter ( cant remember the year ) and was stuck in Aosta for 3 days on the way home
cos the Blanc was closed to lorries. Had to chain up to get to the tunnel. :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Baldrick…welcome back mate, sorry i didn,t reply to your earlier pm. Hope you,re well.

MaggieD…you,d better make that 2 oxo cubes Richard cos i might turn up as well. :unamused: :sunglasses:

just thought i’d put one on!!
