Hi Buzzer, I remember that line up.
You and yer 86, me in the 89, the best one, Dave in the 88 and Winky in the F12.
Humble beginnings indeed mate.

Your about early on here mate, i remember goin to Pompy with the bubble and that high tautliner to load Jersey spuds and when i came out of the cut on the M27 near Pompy the wind caught the side of that trailer and i swear the wheels lifted of the road, scary moment that and i know if “the fireman” had to go any distance empty he used to tye the curtains back.By the way i think i ought to compile a list of past drivers on here, it will be long and Horry can help cos he’s got an amazing memory.

That,ll take some doing Buzzer…Start at the beginning and I should be near the top of the list.
I know Horry,s got a good memory, but come on, he was still in short trousers when I started for yer.

On the subject of little lorries I haven’t seen any photos of the FL10 yet. Sure you must have a couple.

As for a drivers list I started with you in oct 1998. I had P222 which still had yo-yo on the door. Micky Hughes had it before me and IIRC he had taken over N333 doing UK shunting. Once I’m awake a could probably come up with a list of trucks & drivers from when I started.

Cheers

( Added in Geordie Billy )
( Added in Keith Mapson )

Gordon go gog ■■ colin berry ■■ would have been around that time i think neil

Both were on during my time there but that list is what I remember from when I started.

In all fairness the line up changed quite considerably during my time there with a fair few “good ol boys” both departing and arriving.

Cheers

Hi Neil wot about Shaun and Shirley from Coventry, then there was Baldrick and Blakey and Wacker your gonna have to get Horry in on this one he will real 'em of like a machine gun
Also Tutty and Bristol Mark and Big Scotty god theres loads of em.

I think you,ll probably find Buzzer, that the names you,ve mentioned as well

That dont matter tone, its the total line up ime after so hope you got a till roll handy.

That’s just a snapshot of how I can remember it at the time I started on for you John. A few had left just before I started and were still to be seen in the yard occasionally. These included Gooj (who I’m now working with/for), Beggsy and Shirley. I also remember Mappo posting that he had an “S” Reg DAF so he could only have just left at that time. Let’s also not forget Malc in the workshop and there was a young northern lad washing down. The last couple of names still elude me though. When I get time I will have to trawl this thread for that picture of the boss in front of the “where are they” board to see if it helps.

I’ve still a good 90 minute run home so it’ll have to wait until next week now.

Bon weekend.

Cheers

Almost correct Neil, my last motor working for Buzzer was indeed a Daf…Reg. No R88GEL
One of the first two on the Davies fleet.

hi john, dont you remember, you gave me P666 cos you said
it suited my personallity. dont what you meant by that.

Hi qwozzy now you know very well why you had P666 as any triple six is surposed to be the sign of the devil so therefore it suited you down to the ground,it was not the only 666 we had the first being DJO 666Y but i think that was before your time with us.What i will say you were a loyal subject during your time with us always sticking up for the company when some one was slagging it off which is commendable in its self.( you will have to look that word up in your dictionary )

You came back at a later date and drove for Denny or was that before Tone.

Nah that was earlier Buzzer…the Daf was my last full time motor for ya
although i did do another trip to Greece which ended on a bit of a sour note if you remember.
At least we,ve kissed and made up now aye.

Do you remember the gate being pulled when you quit for Denny and the " Fireman " on guard duty case you did a runner with the sweat tins Tone.

Yeh I do Buzzer, and as with you,we made up later.
Enough of this, I,m being made out to be a bit of a rebel…which I wasn’t,t…mostly.

Hi Tone rebel aint the word i would use but there you go, if you feel guilty you probabley are. Here’s a couple of pics taken at the yard today.

Hi all made a bread pudding yesterday when it was hissing down and sent for consumption at the yard, i hope DG did’nt have to many slices cos he might be overweight when he leaves the yard,i nearly called pat in to deliver it for me !
