Hi wrighty, farming eh, cropping and getting the right weather at the right time, a bonus and a huge relief with the unpredicable weather patterns nowadays. Back in my youth the seasons were pretty much cut and dried( ) and farmers managed without the fancy weather charts and forecasts we have today, some relied on a tap on the weather glass hanging just inside the porch door and another pointer was the way the beasts(cattle Scots) were behaving in the field like when a thunderstorm was looming.
The photo back in May on the Donny bypass thanks to Richard Says.

Evening Oiltreader

Yes as you say the weather is that unpredictable nowadays you can’t always trust the met office, one of the best indicators is the old barometer. We often find if the weathers going to be settled the yows will be grazing high up against the fell, nature is usually right.
We’ve got all our silage and hay in now so we are just waiting to get some second cut later on, we could do with a bit of rain though… :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Cheers Wrighty.

Andrew Morrison:
Parking not the best in Czech everywhere full up & running out of time I came off motorway to look for something & found this lay-by although turns out it was a bus stop(sign was hidden lol) but it done for the night & was very quiet as well as very dark……10

Good pics Andrew, your getting about a bit. Last time i did Austria was a good few years ago and you use to buy a Go box at the border/services
and then preload money on it for the tolls. Is it still the same or have things changed ?

Buzzer:
Back in time hard work but a more enjoyable world, Buzzer

Great old black and white pics Buzzer and what a hard job that was being a farm labourer.Back breaking work and i bet they were happy
when conveyor’s become more common.

Click on pages twice to read.

Dean remember back in the day my mother was dispatched to the local pub for beer & lemonade for the troops who came to help with harvest work, at about 9.30 all would assemble in the kitchen for a sup and bread and cheese supper and a bit of banter as well, was hard work but all were used to that, Buzzer

Happy Birthday Buzzer have a good day.

For wrighty, Inverness area 1993 MF 3095 for sale what do you reckon… fair price?
1993 Massey Ferguson 3095 £12000
To quote seller
"Massey Ferguson 3095 turbo good tyres all round, tractor starts and runs perfect , good pulling tractor bigger tyres so does 29/30 mph on the road . Good all round condition , if left sitting for a few days the brake pedal goes but once bleed and if used daily it’s fine , no offers as I’m not bothered if it sells or not "

Well although I have no active role in DIT nought changes, our driver Mike a relief man spent 40hrs on the M20 in 16kms of trucks eventually being able to divert to Portsmouth by the police who stated he probably would not ship today out of Dover as cars are being given priority. Now on a ferry out of Portsmouth on his way to Italy at last, this is how the ferry companies treat you a 365 day a year business that is road haulage with both sides blaming each other. The Frogs just cannot get over Brexit so lets hope who ever is the next PM treats them with the contempt they deserve but I doubt that will happen either as no one seems to have any balls anymore, Buzzer

The EES biometric passports, due in Sept this year won’t help either.
Still that’s a sovereign country taking back control of it’s borders.

“Nought changes” Well, do you think us leaving a zone of free movement is “nought”?
Were there queues like this pre-Brexit? Could there possibly be a connection?

The Dover authorities told the Gov they needed funds to help with extra passport booths in 2020. The Gov said “No”.

Of course blaming the foreigners is standard issue. Saves having to look at ourselves (and our failing Gov) and actually do summat constructive.

Franglais I note you still have not got over Brexit and neither have the French but it happened and it was some time ago, I have a long memory and yes we did suffer delays like this before Brexit usually caused by the whims of the French and there Gallic attitudes and not just this side of the channel either, the only thing you can say about them is when they decide to strike for what ever reason they do all stick together unlike us with our every man for himself attitude.
As for your point on passport booths the problem there is under manning & not the amount of booths available, you would like to think the French would welcome folk wanting to holiday in France contributing to there coffers & they certainly need that.
My main point was that why is it that all the trucks are parked up with no even flow of trucks & cars to the ferries after all the trucks are there year round and the cars seasonal, anyways all will be resolved when we get a brand new PM in No 10 who does not party or tell lies only time will tell, Buzzer

Should have left him there another 5 hours clean slate 6 cards to GEL on with

This isnt the "Brexit" thread, so Ill keep it short.

It isnt over yet. Us leaving is done, but the effects are still to come. The import controls we negotiated and signed up to still havent been implemented.
The “oven ready deal”, they praised and signed, has now been disparaged even by Johnson, Rees-Mogg, Frost, etc etc.
More passport controls are coming in the autumn. More import controls are due.
