Fishbourne IOW waiting for me mini cruise lol
just managed to get me on lol
Headed back to Tracy Island after IOW for my time off & out again on night boat from Pompey, well that was the plan but Brittany decided they were not going to let us on boat & it’s been booked since last week After a frantic morning & a lot of phone calls/e mails (lots of paperwork to sort out as well)Horry did manage to get me on a night boat from Tilbury to Zeebrugge,it’s mainly un accompanied trls but with space for 12 drivers accompanied not ideal but it beats swimming lol Only 5 of us as it turns out so at least we got a cabin on our own.

Buzzer is the restaurant still at the top of somosierra [was it called the flags]Thanks for flipping the photo.dbp.
Your three great photos of Puerto de Somosierra in Northern Spain reminded me of my
595 mile journey from Santander to Mojacar, Almeria Province, South East Spain.
My two pictures are taken a bit further to the North in February 1992, on my return to
Santander for the ferry back to Plymouth. The snow had eased a bit on the return trip.
On the downward journey, the snow was 4 metres deep in places. In the first picture,
I had stopped on the layby for a Jimmy Riddle Click 2nd picture for full image.
Brittany Ferries ship " Bretagne " had arrived at Santander direct from its annual visit
to the shipyard at Brest in Brittany, my downward journey was aboard " Duke De Normandie ",
its regular route at the time was Portsmouth to Ouistreham ( Caen ).
Cheers, Ray Smyth.
Re ^^^^: here’s a picture I took at the top of Somosierra in the December 1998 when I was driving for Breda Transport on North Africa work. Normally you could see for miles up there, but when I awoke that morning a deep mist was lain across the valleys. I think Dave Brealey was piloting the Actros, I was on the MAN and John McFarlene the DAF. That services area was called Robrigordo. Occasionally I used to use the old one in the Village (see 2nd pic down, taken when I later worked pulling DTS trailers).
PDB personally I would not have a clue about the flags as the last time for me shipping out was in 1988 and that was just a trailer changeover in Le Havre. Very quiet at home today but did the normal check on the cattle, the one’s down on the marsh look to be in heaven munching away with not a care in the world, lovely place with plenty of natural cover, Buzzer
The Flags are further on toward Madrid.

A quieter weekend up ere for a change, feeding up and turning some more cattle out, but it’s still a cold wind blowing we even lit the fire this afternoon.
Back to it tomorrow off to Selby with machinery then loading new tractors out of Hull, jobs busy especially as the shows are starting again after a two year break.
Cheers Wrighty.
