Yes it is Dean would hold about 60 gallons but you had to be careful on & off ferries as if the trailer dipped too much it could hit the flat tank & we mounted them on rubber, JD

Thanks for confirming. Your right about coming off ferries and depending on the time of year tides etc you could bottom out and would often see trailer bumpers scraping
along the ground as you will know.

I fitted a good number of those “saddle” tanks to all the F88’s and the early 111’s as well as the lwb 81’s then I fitted the F10’s with saddle tanks when they joined the fleet. The later 111’s were factory fitted with two 62 gal tanks so they didn’t require additional fuel capacity and IIRC we fitted a couple of Scanias with moulded plastic saddle tanks which IIRC were made by Hatchers but they caused problems by splitting so we stuck to the steel fabricated ones mounted on rubber pads ! The tops of the tanks were covered with ali sheet and one or two did get this covering "sliced " open but the tanks were never punctured luckily ! in I trust everyone has had a good Christmas and New Year celebration ! All the best Dennis.

I was trying to remember the correct name for those tanks Dennis. Hatchers also built sheet racks which i expect you had.

Evening Buzzer
Well it’s been wild and wet this last few days and then last night we had snow, it was unseasonably warm at the start of the week but it has certainly cooled down now. Not back driving until Monday so we are busy farming, spreading a bit of muck today and dosing the early lambers tomorrow, no rest for the wicked eh…
Cheers Wrighty.
Looks a bit bleak up your end Steve, we dont seem to get the snow down here and muck spreading would be out of the question as far too wet on the ground. Nice sunny start this morning but still fresh outside, still looking for a few hummicks to stick in the barn but not alot about at the moment, do miss having stock about the place but summit will come along soon for sure, Buzzer.
