Tuesday and its the turn of the older brothers to get down and dirty, still no wash day beany hat though Jocky, gotta show the drivers they dont get tasked with jobs bosses cant do, BuzzerWell John at least this Grandson has proper footwear on to work on the wash as opposed to the other two lads footwear in the earlier shot but hey ! at that age it would be the last thing they were thinking about—just get “stuck in” eh! Cheers Dennis.
Dennis that is my youngest son in that shot out of the office for some real graft, the other two were his sons, no way back for me done my stint years ago, JD
Well John I could never get the office Wallas out of the office to do any graft ( once I’d promoted them ) so forgive me for assuming otherwise !
Anyway I will take this opportunity to wish both Your Good lady and yourself as well as the two Lads and their families and all the Drivers at DIT an enjoyable and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous and BUSY 2022 . Kindest Regards Dennis.

Had some cracking times on that boat.
Excellent sea crews and shore staff. Fair few booze-cruise parties used it in winter.
Often did unaccompanied with them, lots of good weekends Cbourg and a few on boat too: when we were in C
bourg waiting for a trailer or whatever they would give us a foot ticket both ways for free. Bed, shower, food, all free; after a while they stopped giving us the stamps for free clothes though…
One of the companies not so good days, ex “scattercash” motor driven by Tony two who suffered two broken legs we flew him home but had to have his legs reset as the Italian’s bodged the job, motor recovered by Brian Paling & Eddie Huntley with an F12 and a hydraulic lift which fitted in the 5th wheel borrowed from Pat Duffy. They lifted the front which was a mistake should have lifted the rear and tied the steering up as when negotiating Mont Cenis they were bereft of steering capabilities but they got her home, Buzzer
them volvo’s were some cars, not a mark on it…

Looked nasty Buzzer. What happened written off or repaired ?
Wrote of Dean, the story goes he went into the back of an Italian trailer which had no lights but we will never know the reality, suppose when you think of the massive mileage covered by our trucks over 50 years think we have only had two incidents where recovery was needed and lets hope it stays that way, Buzzer.

Cant knock your accident record Buzzer. Lets be honest a company tramping all over Europe could have accidents every week.
Two bad accidents in 50 years is unbelievable really and like you say, lets hope there are no more.
Also shows you have had some good pilots over the years !
Nice to see you have got the cruise ships work back. Just goes to show how these companies think they are being clever by using a haulier that obviously undercut you and then messed the job up.Great when they then realise there mistake and our on the phone asking for your services again !
