I think they’re missing a trick by not opening for breakfast especially during the summer/spring months, very busy route for people heading to coastal resorts with very few places to stop for breakfast anywhere.

This is how close we came to catastrophe on Friday evening in the storm----- a 100ft 20 ton conifer just “shaved” the side of the bungalow and landed on the back lawn---- if it had been a couple of foot nearer it would have took out that side of the bungalow but Anne was sat watching tele in the lounge about 7 or 8 feet away so I can’t think of the consequences that could have befallen her ! :open_mouth: Cheers Dennis.

Funnily enough “K” that’s exactly what our Tree Surgeon said to me at 7:30 am on Saturday morning after he had stopped “blaspheming” when he first saw the devastation ! And I can tell you that you could bury a tractor unit in the hole that the roots have left ! It will need 20 ton of backfill to reinstate the ground.

Not so much damage up ere as you have Bewick but we are battling the snow, some drifts are so deep we can’t get the quad bike through them. We had to bring some yows down from the fell as they were holed up against the wall, and what a job it was shifting them. I had to walk up to them with the dogs before they would budge but we have them down near the house now munching on some hay.
We have been lucky as our electric has stayed on but quite a few around us are still off, back to it tomorrow could be an interesting ride to Sedbergh as the fresh snow which came today has now frozen.

Cheers Wrighty.

Could have been worse Wrighty you could have been fast in at Tan Hill with the Oasis tribute band ! We’ve only a covering of snow here in Kendal but it’s freezing hard tonight but our Tree Surgeons will be kept warm in’t morning tackling this humongous F----- tree that needs removing plus they are going to fell another half dozen that are past their sell by date ! I’ll keep them supplied with hot brews ! Cheers Dennis.

Morning Buzzer

Yes we had a good day on Friday, selling four bulls to an average of £1900 with the top price being £2500. Three went for breeding and one went fat, managed to get through the drifts on our lane this morning now sat near Southam waiting to tip

Cheers Wrighty.
