Buzzer very nice looking beasts, and the trucks as well ,i like the way they have parked so the cab doors can be opened with ease, a good lesson of parking have you got" markers" on the fence at the rear as the spacing is A1 one musketeer missing wouldn’t be snapper by any chance.DBP

“snapper” is on a weeks leave and that trailer is a spare we kept from the last batch 13yo, Buzzer

Brand new computer so learning the ropes as a little different, Frome market today and with a degree of success. A nice annual entry of single suckled pure Charolais steers and heifers and after perusing the pens selected two groups 7 steers and 7 heifers all about level on size but really nice things and ended up with both lots that’s 14 which is what I wanted, the steers were first in and got them fairly well but the heifers were £#2 a head dearer in the end but someone else pushed hard for those its the way it goes sometimes, they were early in the catalogue so I was loaded and on me way home buy 11.45 but I definitely knew I had them on the back but the DAF went well, home unload and well pleased when in the barn. Just got to worm them now & blackleg jab them and out they can go. Saw a 16mo one sold from the same farm and it made £1145 so I know what these may grow into. Well that’s the buying done with this year got some more grass to cut next week but the weather looks set fair for that job, Buzzer.

Nice looking animals Buzzer, how many is that you have now in total ?

Dean they were a tad more expensive than I wanted to pay but are quality stock, have 24 Limousines and 14 Charolais 20 steers and 18 heifers making 38 in total Buzzer
By the way there has been a lot of corn cut on my way down to Frome and saw two gigantic combines at work on me way home, have they started down your way yet Dean ?

Worth paying a bit more if they are the right animals Buzzer.

Funny you should mention the combiners being out i thought it was a bit earlier than normal but they have been cutting for about 3 weeks
around here.

Nice one from New Zealand.

Hiya Wrighty did you see on the tele a couple of weeks back a program that Yorkshire Dales one cant think of the name ? But they interviewed a bloke in Muker who plays a trumpet or similar I’am sure he drives for Turners Ostle ? I’ve seen him round here quite often cheers Dan .

Evening Dan

I can’t bring him to mind, I know a lad from Hawes who drives for Turners Ostle but I don’t know if he plays a trumpet… :open_mouth:

Cheers Wrighty.

It will more likely be a “stringed” instrument Wrighty !! Cheers Dennis.

He wasn’t blowing his own trumpet

Afternoon Buzzer

Well thats the end of another busy weekend on the farm, the weather looks to be dry going forward this week so we have mown for hay, so there could be some little hay bales to handball come the middle of the week.
Back to work in the morning not sure where we heading yet so we will see…

Cheers Wrighty.

Just snicked this of FB, Buzzer

Early 90’s tipping frozen food to the mother ship in Split harbour during the Bosnian crisis, she got painted later on VTA 872S, Buzzer

Little update on the farming front, on Monday morning we ran the new batch of Charolais stores through the crush and jabbed them for Blackleg and wormed them at the same time so when they have emptied the fed trailer they can go out to grass.
Tuesday cut the last seven acres of grass had a late start as the tractor battery was flat but got going just after lunch, it was not that thick a crop so called the contractor to row up and bale and he came 3.30 yesterday. Only there about an hour and got another 23 big round bales for the winter store. Rang me mate to come at 6pm to get them in and in the hour and a half I was away from the field some numnut little tikes got in there and ripped all the plastic of one bale and started on a second, just thank goodness they never had a knife or I reckon they would have done the lot, so this morning had to trailer the two bales to a mates so he could re wrap them, what a pain in the backside.
Grandkids coming round later as its me birthday but nowadays I don’t want to count them anymore, we are in the second half or the year already it goes so fast, next job is to clean the muck out of the barn but this can be done at a more sedate pace, cheers Buzzer.

Afternoon Buzzer

Happy Birthday John all the best for today, I know what you mean about not counting birthdays it’s my 50th next week where does the time go…
Timed it right this week was away Mon/Tues night whilst they were leading small hay bales at home, thats all our crop in until we do some second cut at the end of August.
Loaded mini heston hay bales on Tues afternoon at a farm near Manchester airport, the young lad on the tractor had never loaded a wagon before and it showed, 5 hours later we left with 49 bales on and tipped them on a farm near Kelso on Wed morning.

Cheers Wrighty.

Happy Birthday Buzzer.
Wrighty,
That is a very nice MF 65 you have there, nice to see it out doing a bit of graft, it don’t hurt them!

Yes Pete it’s a family heirloom, purchased by Alice’s father in the late 60’s and then we had it restored three years ago, It only comes out in summer to do a bit of light work.

Cheers Wrighty.

Hi John not sure about August funnily enough speaking to Gazzer earlier in the week and we were talking about it will have to get in touch with Mr Shepard and see what he say’s.Got to social distance but i struggle to drink with a face mask on although it’s good for filtering the bit’s from real scrumpy. :stuck_out_tongue:

I posted on the “other” thread about the Bash.
I’m sure we can manage with social distancing.

For those who like to reminisce this is on the way to, taken today, Buzzer

Good afternoon Buzzer. It’s taken me six months to get back on Trucknet.

Have I missed much?. Time is getting on. I have been told that some members were having

A meeting at the Thatched Cottage to discuss the venue. Any news.

As I’ve been out of circulation for some time, I’m not too sure what’s occurring.

I’m back in hospital in September to remove another little bit. Any more and I won’t need a coffin

They’ll stick me in a carrier bag. Save a few bob eh? Looking forward to some info

Regards Charlie

Charlieone sorry to here of you lack of internet access had you have let one of us know of your plight we could have posted you a few 50p coins for the lecky meter, not too sure about the August bash as some think Timmy is not over enamoured with the influx of old crocks gathering there like the swallows waiting to depart for other lands, Gazzer said he is going there but I feel a wind of change is afoot and as they say a change is as good as a rest. We will have to wait and see what will happen especially with this social distancing thing and for sure some will take full advantage of this especially regarding the bar area but not sure if “scattercash” is attending or not. Trust you will keep your pecker up and September is not too daunting for you, cheers Buzzer
