Buzzer:
Hey up Wrighty sounds like you bin busy, we need some of your rain down here as we have only had dust dampeners so far, looking set fair next week so may cut some more grass especially as having got me tractor back after its heart transplant, i’ve put mower back on and it sounds sweat as a nut so lets hope its a goodun. Off to Frome tomorrow to have a look see whats available you dont know if you dont go, Buzzer.

We will certainly swap you some rain for a week of sun, the land is getting wet and the crops are going to be very heavy making them harder to dry out.
Good news about your tractor a bit of mowing will help to bed everything in, what was wrong with the old engine…?

Cheers Wrighty.

Wrighty the old engine had half a valve crack off and it knackered the block but loose metal in an engine it dont take long to knacker it all up, I found out that as a 3060 it never should have had a turbo on it but at some point it had an after market kit fitted, the problem is the engine although a Perkins is native to only the 3060 and the 390 where the bell housing and block are one making them very scarce but my man located one in Inverness and £55 pallet got it down South, he worked all over weekend to get her done so pleased with him, we shall see how she fairs but its not worked every day just seasonal jobs, harrowing, rolling, topping and a bit of mowing, cheers Buzzer.

Just seen that about the pup, it will know whats what when miss Cropper’s finished wi him.

Nice looking pup,is it a Scottish boarder collie ,do they still yoke the pup to another old hand dog to learn the ropes and commands, or have the PC Brigade got their hooks even to dog training.A good old tap did me some good, but never carried it on with my sons…
Througly enjoy the BUZ,WRIGHTY farm talk .DBP.

Wrighty you are lucky getting that lot wrapped up as looks like you got some wet coming you way today, bet you got to be careful with round bales on slopes like that too, cheers Buzzer

Evening Buzzer

Your cattle are looking well John, are you fully stocked now or are you looking for more…

Cheers Wrighty.

Wrighty off to market in Salisbury today trying for a few more then we are done, Buzzer

This struck a chord with me as my nick name is “Buzby” as i was always on the phone (Maureen Lipman advert) this is in 1920 in Mayfair 50ft up repairing the telephone cables sitting in a bosuns chair, not today me thinks as elf n safety would not allow it, Buzzer.

Brand new computer so learning the ropes as a little different, Frome market today and with a degree of success. A nice annual entry of single suckled pure Charolais steers and heifers and after perusing the pens selected two groups 7 steers and 7 heifers all about level on size but really nice things and ended up with both lots that’s 14 which is what I wanted, the steers were first in and got them fairly well but the heifers were 32 a head dearer in the end but someone else pushed hard for those its the way it goes sometimes, they were early in the catalogue so I was loaded and on me way home buy 11.45 but I definitely knew I had them on the back but the DAF went well, home unload and well pleased when in the barn. Just got to worm them now & blackleg jab them and out they can go. Saw a 16mo one sold from the same farm and it made £1145 so I know what these may grow into. Well that’s the buying done with this year got some more grass to cut next week but the weather looks set fair for that job, Buzzer.

Dean they were a tad more expensive than I wanted to pay but are quality stock, have 24 Limousines and 14 Charolais 20 steers and 18 heifers making 38 in total Buzzer
By the way there has been a lot of corn cut on my way down to Frome and saw two gigantic combines at work on me way home, have they started down your way yet Dean ?

Evening Buzzer

A couple of busy days on the farm, spent all day yesterday spreading muck on the freshley cleared fields then been busy big baling today. Thats it for cropping at the moment apart from a bit of hay then we will have to wait for second cut. The new cattle look in good fettle and should do your job nicely…

Cheers Wrighty.

It will more likely be a “stringed” instrument Wrighty !! Cheers Dennis.

Cleared the old dusty stale haylage out the feeder and put in a new bale plus litter them up, Monday we will worm them and jab them for Blackleg and then they can go out to the green stuff so just checking daily for the Summer, Buzzer

Buzzer very nice looking beasts, and the trucks as well ,i like the way they have parked so the cab doors can be opened with ease, a good lesson of parking have you got" markers" on the fence at the rear as the spacing is A1 one musketeer missing wouldn’t be snapper by any chance.DBP
