Evening Buzzer
Yes we’ve had a couple of days of good heavy showers which has kickstarted the grass, it was much needed and now we just have to wait for it to catch up. Been busy turning cattle out, cleaning sheds out and getting the machinery ready for the start of silage. Back in work on Tuesday for 4 days shifting more concrete, so should keep us going…
Cheers Wrighty.
Well Wrighty today I started the haylage season off by cutting the first bit a six acre field but alas we had a broken UJ joint on the PTO shaft so that ended my exploits for the day, had to call in the big guns to finish the job off and it did not take long at all but he cuts twice as wide as my mower, lucky as he came from his having just cut 10 acres of his own so was already hooked up, its invaluable when you have mates who will help out at the drop of a hat. Booked the contractor for teatime tomorrow to row up and bale, no turning else it would be hay will see what unfolds tomorrow, Buzzer

Thats amazing that picture was taken in 1944 so 76 years ago, Buzzer.
Busy day yesterday went to Salisbury market but nought of interest to me so home to find me haylage was baled and Wrapped while i was away so full steam ahead to get it off the field, 52 big bales of 6 acres was pleasing as i said before no muck or expensive fertilizer, things were going well till me loader sprang a water leak with just six bales left to lift, called a mate and we managed to replace the tiny pipe that had a split in it and as we all know you don’t need much of a hole to lose a lot of water fast, any ways we got her fixed and will resume this morning to finish the job, Buzzer.
