Buzzer:
Oily got me mower on the tractor waiting for me man to fit some new blades and check her over and may get going, the top is going to seed but not so much bottom and Wrighty beat me too it last year as well, weather looks fair so watch this space.
Yesterday went to Frome but could not touch them as far to dear, Simmental steers very good at 11to12 mo but at £960’s apiece far to dear so will keep looking, Buzzer.

Evening Buzzer

Well there’s a good chance you are going to beat us to the silage this year, just finished chain harrowing but the grass is hardly growing we need some rain, but it’s looking like the back end of this next week before we get any.

Cheers Wrighty.

Its feast or famine where the weather is concerned that’s just the way of things, the first field I want to cut needs some remedial fencing done so hoping to get it cut before it goes mental on the silage front, Buzzer.

ERF-NGC-European:
I used to like that stretch of the N10 up to Tours. Good restaurants, especially the Etoile du Sud at Couhe up towards Vivonne. I used to like the N10 before they upgraded it, when it was just a two track running through al the towns and villages. Ro

Robert,

Me too, but think you had get back on the motorway at Poitiers ?

I once got nicked at the peaje there at 2130 on a Sunday night while driving for McKellars. My own stupid fault as I had been in western trucks for the weekend and had had enough of it. Left at 2100 using the old hour behind / before thing…

Couldn’t believe it…

Aye we really do need a deluge of the wet stuff to get the grass bouncing ! my back and front lawns are turning brown. Will Farmers only get two cuts instead of the usual three this year maybe ? Cheers Dennis.

Afternoon Dennis

The early men were cutting first crop in late April before it started getting less, they’ve probably got as much grass on there meadows now as we have. The rain will come and when it does it wont know when to stop, ours will be ready to cut when it’s pouring down with no dry weather in sight… :unamused:
They will probably still get three or four cuts but it will just be later when they get finished.

Cheers Wrighty.

Your spot on there Wrighty when “Him up theer” turns the tap on He forgets to turn it off often as not ! 4 cuts !! surely there can’t be much keep ( or milk) in the 4th cut ? Or will the last cut just be used for the dry cows and sheep mebe ? Cheers Dennis.

Aye it wont be as good quality but nowadays most dairy herds are fed through a diet feeder, so it gets mixed with other feed to balance it out…

Cheers Wrighty.

We were out near Dalton in Furness today and Julie said,’ look at that, they’ve put lime on all those fields.’ It was only later that we decided that they’d taken a cut which left the underlying grass white! Why would you forge a career in farming or trucking? So much to go wrong!

On the subject of restaurants on the nationals ,the big one by Vivonne used to do a large fresh seafood counter , and years ago opposite that Routiers , what looked like a house , was an excellent restaurant ran by a young couple , log fire in the winter. It must be gone now .
Plenty of places if you exited the twin track from Bordeaux to Bayone , off the beaten track restaurants in the forest area .
I used the restaurant in the shopping mall at Angouleme , nice bit of waste ground to park on .
It’s a shame they put weight limits from Cherbourg to Mont saint Michael , as that coast road was great and La Rochelle with the view of the bay .
I’m sure I used the Mille Pattes but can’t remember where that is now .
With Davies doing France , how do they manage with no restaurants open , is it takeaway from the garages or cool box , make your own meals ?

All our Scania’s have fridges and microwaves and as Horry says you can buy a nice ready meal in M&S for about £3.50 and you got throw away BBQ’s as well especially when 3 or four drivers together, in the yard at the week end four of them did a Sunday roast as all facilities are there at hand, Buzzer

Oh! so that’s where you and The Boss dined last Sunday John !! Cheers Dennis.

Laurel & Hardy aka Chip & Andrew continue there close encounter work relationship, its like they are joined at the hip, Buzzer

Eyeball Wrighty did you meet the rain Bewick ordered

Dean reckon its a Limousin just wait for the expert to confirm, not a lot of ground clearance at the rear though,  Buzzer

Hi Buzzer,I believe this one came on the fleet at one time,Cheers Bubbs,

Certainly was Bubbs we shipped her out in those colours before she got in the paint shop, she had a low diff so was not a fast motor but pulled up the hills very well. She earned some dosh I think she only cost about K2 when I bought her but we spent a few quid on her to get her up to our spec, Buzzer

Evening Buzzer

Mmmm not sure doesn’t look like a Limi’s head but that could be because of the drop handlebars, certainly wouldn’t be let loose near any of our pure girls… Where did you spot us Dan, been running between Workington and South Shields this week, back home to get some farming done and yes we had a bit of rain but looks like were getting more towards the end of the week… fingers crossed.

Cheers Wrighty.

Just presumed it was you as the driver waved between Penrith and Shap nr that old gatehouse ,then I saw the wagon n drag below Aberdeen with what looked like big Hestons .

Wrighty maybe a South Devon but there not that popular, Buzzer.
