Thanks for that mate not seen that before, " we get every where man " Buzzer

Evening Buzzer

Well the new shed is filling up with sheep and lambs, it’s not been a bad day up ere sunshine with the occasional heavy sleet shower but they are better inside than out…
Mi ears on the mend at last it’s been a slow and very painful week, looking forward to getting back to work and the open road.

Cheers Wrighty.

Barn looks smart mate and will certainly make lambing a more pleasurable task, what space you got between the hit & miss boards as they look narrower than we have in the sunny South, cheers Buzzer

Buzzer:
Dean current numbers are 24 all single suckled Aberdeen Angus crosses and they are glad to be indoors at the moment with all this rain, still looking for a few more but not panicking, pigs off to the slaughter house tomorrow then they deliver back to my butcher in Titchfield on Tuesday for jointing and the all important sausage making, will try and remember to take some pictures tomorrow, cheers Buzzer.

Thanks for the update on numbers. The pigs are now gone then, you must eat alot of sausages chap.

That clip that Punchy Dan popped on showed how clean your motors alway seem to be,even in the crap weather we
have been having.

Wrighty, Lambing barn looks spot on chap. How many sheep so you have and how many lambs roughly will they produce
out of intrest ?

Heres one Paul caught in 2011.

Evening DEANB

We are lambing 430 yows this spring so should hopefully fingers crossed produce around 800-850 lambs, we didn’t bother scanning this year and so far we seem to be having lots of twins and triplets. But as with most things farming it’s weather dependent, and as they say any fool can lamb yows it’s keepin em going afterwards that teks doin…

Cheers Wrighty.

Here you go Wrighty sold today at Frome Market in the weaned calf section a pedigree Lim bull calf 5mo both parents shown with results it made £1070, that’s the way to do it eh. Oh another note picked up all me butchered pigs today which was four of them and the rest in sausages which amounted to 660lbs in weight so one chest freezer is nearly full again now so if we get lock down because of Coronavirus we can survive that is if anyone knows 660 ways to cook a sausage    and also today some of our drivers were not allowed in the RDC’s canteens because of Coronavirus, cheers Buzzer

That’s a nice calf and a decent price as well, more like the price they should be making. Busy today driving a dumper at home, we decided to concrete the shed floor so have been tipping ready mix in. Back to work tomorrow with a day run up to Stirling, tip and reload and back down so a nice gentle day to get us back to work…

Cheers Wrighty.

Always had an intrest in farming “wrighty” as used to work on two different farms as a kid getting the bales in etc. Imagine kids
doing that today riding your push bike for about 5 miles to get to your mates farm from school then out stacking bales on the
trailer etc. Great fun as a kid.

800 - 850 lambs sounds like a great return from 430. Bearing in mind the chat we had a while back about the price of those male
rams am i right in thinking you hope to have alot of male lambs born or am i completly off the mark ? :unamused:

Moody night shot, Buzzer.

Andrew " snapper " Klondyke back to work this morning keeping an eye on Bridget making sure he does his fair share.

KEEP-HER-LIT [boy]the saying i think originated from our IRISH COLLEGES from both sides of the border,if you were ever in RUNGIS MARKET in PARIS you would have heard the saying a lot and they knew how [keep her lit].but they had a pocket full of cash to pay the fines we did not…dbp

Evening Buzzer

Another busy day on the machinery made easier with a bit of dry weather, spoke to Alice earlier and she said it was very wet at home. The yows are spitting lambs out and to cap it all our sheepdog has had six pups this morning, so it’s going to be all hands on deck when I get home tomorrow.

Cheers Wrighty.

Sunday and very quiet on the lanes round home, think everyone is self isolating for fear of getting coronavirus or the sqwits judging by the way the bog rolls are disappearing of the supermarket shelves but none of the authorities mentioned this was a symptom of the afore mentioned pandemic. My boys are exceptionally busy with pharma loads plus food stuffs from Spain and flower plants for mothers day even though that is a couple weeks away which is good.
On the farming front I have booked a TB test as I have decided that the biggest of the steers I have should find a new home as the prices in market at the moment are super high and I don’t think one would benefit from keeping them all Summer and do any better so looking towards maybe getting some younger ones to run on the grass, that is if it ever stops raining. Yesterday the weather forecast for the week looked good with no rain but today and its a different outlook altogether but that’s the way it is. The chicken are laying very well and yesterday I had 108 eggs from 120 chooks so well pleased with there performance levels at the moment.
Couple pictures of the steers in the barn this afternoon else Dean will get on at me    cheers Buzzer

Kev Smithy I believe had two Chamberlain tractors also a Field Marshall single cylinder you had to start that with a cartridge, think he had a Nuffield as well and one of his female relations had that before he passed. He used to drive to Stourpain Great Dorset steam fair with a tractor and towed a living van on behind, bit like a shepherds hut but had pneumatic tyres, cheers JD
