Mr John Davies, it has been noted by the T.F.W. (Transport for Wellow) that a certain Scania rigid livestock vehicle passed through the C.C.T.V. Camera at West Wellow roundabout at 16.05 hours today Friday 21st of October 2016,the driver failed to stop at the border and have his permit stamped, and also to visit the vet, so any animals being carried could be checked. As if this was not serious enough, the driver, who was not recognised, as he did not have a roll up stuck to his lips, also failed to pay the T.F.W Congestion charge. To avoid any legal action please visit the T.F.W. web site where you will find my bank details, sorry the T.F.W. bank details to pay the charge, which is currently 1 jar of pickled shallots.
Thanking you for your assistance.
Kind regards
Richard.

Dear Richard QC with Honors you cant do this on an open page you should have PM’d me, before you know it that Charlie mush from up Alton way will say I illegally went through his checkpoint as well even though I have a tacho to prove I did not, you know what he is like any way to wangle a jar of my superior pickles.
All in all a bad week, lost a chicken in the catchment pool on the barn (drowned0 never had swimming lessons, cattle did not make what I wanted so lost me shirt on them and to boot “Woody” our Labrador lost his nuts today but that cost over £200 so a double whammy there Buzzer.

Evening Buzzer

Well that was an expensive day, Alice and myself had a walk round the show independently and when we met up we both agreed which tup we liked. Then came the sale and we thought we were going to get him for 6k, but someone else bid and we ended up getting him for 10k.
A lot of brass but hopefully the lambs he gets will make a decent return on our investment, what was your trade like today?

Cheers Wrighty.

Good evening Charlie I hope you are well.
I can only apologise for the posting of a non rural HGV.

Richard I suggest to you photographic evidence would be of benefit
to your case should allegations be presented to a court.

The Shallots should you ‘take payment’ must be consumed
outside the Wellow LEZ or you could face punishment yourself
and a night in the garden shed.

Hope you are both well, take care H ■■

Bloody hell Wrighty you wont sleep tonight after that spend up, is he insured ? I wont sleep either as my cattle never hit the high notes either averaging about £900 for the ten and I don’t understand how a SS Lim steer calf can make £850 at 8mo it don’t add up like many things in the agricultural world, next week the cows and calves are to be got in then TB tested and the calves away just the cows to keep for the winter months if they are in calf otherwise the ones that aint will go too, Buzzer.

Evening all brilliant reading once again ,what with breast stroke chickens should have done the crawl ,better than Mr FOX.
Those shallots look so good ,a gret big hunk of cheddar,or wysledale and a good pint, nearly as good as ■■■, but how would i know, but i do who will know ,that great hunk of a TUB MRSWRIGHTY IS HOLDING what a good looking chap, nice big head, nice markings, sturdy ,not to mention his main pair of horns ? please tell me./us how you went about choosing him ,he will have a name no doubt. [lucky]not every day a ram is chosen ,mind you i knew a few that drove trucks for their living.ruled by their unmentionables…pdb

Yes he is insured for three months so hopefully he will be running with the sheep very soon, we picked him because he is a tall long tup with good black and white, his hair is very coarse to the touch(hard) with well set on horns and nicely marked legs and his back breeding is also very good. But as with all livestock it is a long process improving the breed, and it will be spring when his first lambs are on the ground before we can see if it was money well spent…
As you have said the world of livestock auctions is a fickle one, and prices vary from week to week and it is quite often pot luck which week you pick…

Cheers Wrighty.

Busy day on the agricultural side today, after church went and picked up me cattle moving trailer as my mate had paired the box with the trailer and secured it all ready for moving the cows and calves up home.
Then cleaned out the horses which usually happens every six weeks or so the muck going under the cows in the barn, fresh litter then got them in.
Then down field with water for the last time and nuts in the coral and all charged in so hopefully will do the same when we go to move them. Had a shock yesterday as when I did a head count there were only nine calves so you always think the worse but found the little blighter right at the bottom of the field in a corner asleep and from the top of the field you got a job to see them as the leaves in the hedges begin to turn colour but watched him and he seemed ok and all present for the register today.
So for all the Archers followers that’s my report for today, cheers Buzzer.

Well reported Buzzer. We can now sleep better in our beds tonight.
Also a happy ending with the recovery of the little one. I tend to get emotional
With a sad ending. Keep up the good work.Regards Charlie

To be honest, i was nearly in tears my self when the livestock did not reach the price required as reported ,as a outsider looking in, the shallots look like a good bung. That calf asleep was just testing you to see if you could count.it will probably give a report to Mr BULL so dont turn your back on him.he said[the calf] some people take their shoes of to count to twenty and if its muddy, you can sneak a away day on the fiddle.lol pdb.

Todays "Archers"report from the countryside, well all are safely gathered in to the barn today, it took three loads to get them up in my latest acquisition cattle trailer in readiness of there TB test next Monday, also PD the cows so eager to see what’s what there too. Had all the gates set up in advanced and the bag training proved success as I had them penned in the coral in under five minuets well worth doing that. Happy in the barn munching on haylage and the calves on creep feed.
Had some help today and a friend can be seen power washing out the trailer, this is after we shoveled nearly a barrow load of muck out first as it is inevitable that as soon as they are loaded they have crap, cheers Buzzer.

Evening Buzzer,

That’s a tidy box just the job for moving cattle, we could do with something similar as we have land about 10 miles away from home and rely on 2 ifor Williams trailers.
Parked at Stafford tonight on mi way back up home for a couple of locals, then holiday on Thursday for the tup sales at Hawes. We have 7 tups to sell so fingers crossed we get them cashed, the tups are busy tupping and getting on with it fairly sharpish thanks to some kind weather(thanks baldrick) so hopefully we’ll have a productive lambing which will be here before long.
It doesn’t seem that long since last time but hey ho time marches on…

Cheers Wrighty.

Hi mate bought the David Williams container for £800 and a close friend fetched it home for a favour rate of £50 then the trailer was £770 of eBay but got a local haulier to get that home for £200 cash so all in all she stands me in at £1820 as another mate put the two together for a couple big jars of my pickled shallots. Like you say a very handy bit of kit when you have land away from base camp even though it sits most of the time but in a farm or collective sale things like that always make there money. To be honest I am surprised no one has gone into doing builds like that with loads of trailers and decent old boxes available maybe should build a couple for sale, Buzzer.

Like you say they are always in demand at farm sales, that one of yours looks an ideal size for the tractor.
When we load our 12ft Ifor up with cattle you know you’ve some weight in, nearly too much for a land rover with some of our hills up ere.
Could be a good sideline for you building cattle boxes, you would have no problem selling em, where do I place my order ?

Cheers Wrighty.

Hi Horry,

Thank you for your assistance in this matter, due to the Kodak Brownie 127 flash not going off the parish council do not have a photograph. :unamused: It has been suggested by a member of the council who lives on Penn Common and knows the alleged driver, that he has 2 sons and getting payment should not be a problem !!

If I consume your father’s shallots it would probably be better to spend the next 24 hours in the garden shed, just to keep Mrs.E happy !! She has already put some loo rolls in the fridge as a precaution.

Hope you and your family are well.

Regards
Richard

Been several weeks since the direct drilling but the evidence that it is working I saw while walking young “Woody” at lunchtime today in between pickling beetroot, that is it for the moment on the preserving front as the store cupboard is well stocked up.
In the picture of the grass you can see clearly the drill lines, this is where the muckheap was but you cant see it in the thicker grass but for sure it will be there improving the sward with out total cultivation but we shall see the real results come the spring.
Wrighty hope you do ok at the TUP sales and maybe recoup some rewards to help pay for your latest four legged acquisition.
Richard should you PM me your address I may be able to deliver said pickled products to your grand abode plus maybe a jar for that poor down on his luck pensioner from Alton Towers, Buzzer.

You realise don’t you Buzzer that Richard will eat the aforesaid shallots and then swear on the Koran that they were never delivered. I would suggest that a CMR note is involved. That will stop his little scam. In return I have a large bottle of pickled eggs which I will give to Richard to pass on to you. Same paperwork involved eh? I am in Basingstoke hospital tomorrow for another op tomorrow. New lens in left eye. If it works I will be seeing you! If it doesn’t I’ll turn a blind eye.Iv’e been waiting years to tell that one.

Regards Charlie
