Evening Buzzer

That looks a very tidy set up you have there and as you know Buzzer a ton of mad cow can do some serious damage, I found that out last year when on the receiving end of a gate resulting in a black eye broken nose and a bust lip.
We purchased a headstock from a farm sale and a local lad fitted it and fabricated the gates, proved very useful when recently carrying out a cesarean and should also make TB testing easier…

Cheers Wrighty.

Wrighty I agree when you are handling cattle you got to have the right gear it makes life a lot safer and easier and mine is IAE and that’s a Pole who owns that company, when I did the last test I asked the vet if he had to leave a test and he had, he said all they had was cheapo gates, baler twine and no crush and no one to help either. He refused to do the test till they got better equipped and I don’t blame him at all especially with Lims, had the cows & calves in the corral again today they no I got nuts now when they see the white bag, Buzzer.

Wrighty,

Sorry to but in on the farmers weekly thread, but that p22 is the dogs.

Is it yours ? I never had a 22b but did have a p reg impreza 4 door that had been tickled by prodrive.
Best car I ever had, never looked after it, thraped it like a ginger step child from the day I bought it and it never went wrong,

Scary car, can’t imagine what a proper one is like,

Hi ALL i like the Bewick express parcel deliver service certainly good service,it might just catch on…
I also like the cattle presses, i do know of a few certain bosses who should have maybe spent a little time in one, then maybe they would have put me in one .,better than that old barrel, me-lads.

At 2.10 today when Buzzer was slopping the gravy around his plate i was not far away ,in fact junction 2 i was just going in to the rain i think is close, there was the most horrendous storm also two rainbows, all the traffic stopped in 2 lanes but us old wise drivers kept going to get away ,they all stopped just like the Italians used to stop under a bridge, but i thought of Buzzers seed needing a boost of wet ,well they certainly got it…

Sorry all, that is the first photo i have posted, and it did not come out to good my son lent over me while i was driving…

Evening Tubbysboy

Yes it’s a genuine one had it 10yrs now, i’ve only done 3700 miles in it and yes it’s quick especially after a week in a truck doing 52mph.

Cheers Wrighty.

Wrighty they don’t limit your tankers to 52 mph do they, god my Scania is 56 mph and I still have trucks fly by me as if I were stood still.
Vet came early as he only had to read 130 cattle before our visit, although organized still managed to get me foot trod on and in wellies that smarts, suspect that will black tomorrow should have worn me welders boots wiv steel toecaps, only took 1/2 an hour to run them through so not to bad, booked into Frome market Friday so hope they pass, Buzzer.

Evening Buzzer

Yes unfortunately we are now run by suits who have never driven for a living, 52mph I bloody hate it !, drive around like a rolling road block gettin in everyone’s way… It’s not what truck driving is about, we were taught the more you do the more you earn, nowadays it’s all carbon footprint ■■■■■■■■ oh well that’s tonight’s rant over.
Hopefully you will have a clear test and you get them calves away, will be interesting to see how you do price wise.

Cheers Wrighty.

Busy today in the home economics kitchen preparing these little beauties for the store cupboard, some say it makes them cry when they do these shallots (prefer them to onions) but not me could do them all day and not shed a tear. Suppose now I am going to get the poor old pensioner down on his luck from Alton way bleating on about hard times in a vain attempt to sway my judgement and put a 1/2 gallon jar aside for him, he’s going to have to be a super creep this year as I have others I think with a greater need mostly a poor family from Wellow who are also struggling, we shall see Buzzer.

Funny you should say that Buzzer. I was just thinking this evening that I ought to put up a posting to say how much I admire you for all your skills. First class Lorry driver. Top of the range Haulier. Farmer extrodinaire. Market gardener. Pickler. Team driver. To name a few. Wonderful husband, father and Grandfather. Funny you should mention hard times. The old trouble has flared up. However I don’t want to talk about it. The dog is pregnant. No idea who the father is. I’m walking with two sticks now as my legs are giving way. Mind you I’m not complaining. As you know I’m not a moaner. I just hope you and yours are fit and well. As for the man from Wellow He does seem to be struggling. Struggling to get in and out of his Range Rover. No offence intended Richard.

Regards Charlie.

very gd

John,

Thank you for thinking of us out here in the sticks, those shallots certainly look good enough to eat,and would complement our bread and cheese we have every evening,I hope you and The Boss will pay us a visit in the not too distant future so we can take you up to The Rock for a beverage, Angie has been saving the vouchers from the Farmers Weekly and we nearly have enough for half a pint of best bitter. As part of her birthday celebrations her brothers are taking her up to her other brother this weekend, who lives very close to Wrighty,in Kirkby Stephen and says if she see’s Alice she’s going to give her a gold medal for what she does on the farm.

As for you Charlie I have been nowhere near your dog,how could you stoop so low ? Sorry your legs are playing up,you should have had them sorted years ago,I well remember the lads coming off the boat in the morning in Southampton and I’d ask them why you’d missed the boat and they said they’d left you legless in Le Havre  I’ll try and organise another visit to Alton soon, let me know when you are out !!

Regards
Richard

Evening Richard

Tell Angie not to bother with a gold medal i’ve sorted it, bought Alice a new Dyson vacumn cleaner it’s does everything you could ever want, all she has to do is push it around t’house.
Three days off now so were off to Kirkby Stephen tup sales tomorrow and Friday, hopefully pick up a bargain but no doubt they will be good money.

Cheers Wrighty.

Wrighty your all heart poor old Alice, cleans up in the farm yard and then does the house and bet she cook’s a fair bit of scran to boot, good luck at the sale but let the lady choose, she chose you so must have some judgement accreditation then if it all goes wrong your not going to get the blame.
Out with the team today down to Lee on Solent about 20 miles round trip, put the winter jackets on the horses when we finished washing them down. We go by this hedge a lot always meant to take a picture and today I did, “let the train take the strain” but in this case its the clippers but looks good must have taken some years to get to this, I know in some places some yob would have cut the smoke stack off.
Tomorrow is retest TB day so if they pass off to market Friday, cheers Buzzer.

Photo0547.jpg

TB test all clear so a relief truck in loading position all gated up ready for loading 6.30 am then off to Frome market, Buzzer.
