Buzzer:
Well that’s it I am now being slandered for running a very reputable sunshine touring company back in the day with a bit of groupage thrown in for good measure, I will be on to my QC in Wellow at first light tomorrow to bring a case for compensation against the unjust accusations which if not stopped will surely slur my credibility and standing in the community, this is very hurtful at my time of life having always had my faithful employee’s interests at heart.
On the subject of hearing aids, I have none as for false teeth same applies, I do have glasses but don’t wear them except once a year when I take my medical for my HGV licence and if I need to read the paper and it is not clear I have a magnifying glass on the table.
Gratitude from ex drivers is obviously in short supply, they seem to forget all the favours you did for them when they were working for you like if there is a Spain going can I have it or I need to be home on a certain day will that be ok, short memories indeed very short.
Not forgetting the top notch equipment they were supplied with to do the job, with CB radio’s audio equipment fitted kitchens in cavernous sleeper cabs with night heaters, fridges & all manor of other luxuries. Where did I go so wrong to be suffering such abuse and false accusations is what I want to know, some one will have to pay and I think we all know who that’s going to be, you will be hearing from that man in Wellow very shortly Mr TIR Tony Mapson see you in court, JD.

Hi john,
Sorry I haven’t responded earlier to your request but I have been in Susa handling a difficult case concerning a gentleman known to lots of you as “Fingers” of Mont Cenis customs fame,to cut a long story short he has been accused of taking bribes from English lorry drivers, he protests his innocence and says they were old friends buying him coffee !! He drew up at the court in his Ferrari 430 and in one of his Armani suits and explained that a Mr Anthony Mapson had paid for these things on his many trips to Italy, the authorities are now trying to get Mappo ■■■■■■■■■■ from England to Italy to be a witness,I explained he would come in his shorts if thay did that. So if we could postpone your proceedings till this is sorted it would help matters

On a lighter note whilst driving up the M40 at some unearthly hour the other day,and waving to all the S.J.Bargh tanker drivers in the hope that one was our friend Wrighty,I had the shock of my life when this came up in my mirror as I thought it was you off to buy some more cattle !!

Hope the Boss is well.

Regards
Richard

Buzzer:
Now this looks like a tasty bit of kit more to my liking than the modern stuff, could see me with one of those, Buzzer.

A sort of ‘Adams Family’ weekend away! ‘Diddly di, click click, diddly di, click click!’

Thank you Thing!

John.

Richard thanks for your belated reply regarding Mapson.T. hope you are in a position to secure suitable punishment on this particular case as I know you are a very busy person.
As for Fagan & Whaley they do run a very smart outfit don’t they, also much bigger concern than I first thought, cheers Buzzer.

PS. wonder where “Fingers” is or if he still alive the greedy little scroat.

morning buzzer, thanks for your full and frank reply pretty much what I expected from you and your company I hope some other,s read it and learn.

Re the above posts about injuries and deaths while away in Europe - when I was an owner driver I had a Transmed insurance policy - thankfully I never used it myself, but I certainly knew some people who were re-patriated to England along with their vehicle after being injured in Europe. Are Transmed still around out of interest?

And now back to all things Equine Buzzer ! You jolted my memory about Zilco harness and I recall that about 35 years ago I did buy a light weight set of Zilco driving harness for use on one of my horses that pulled a Gig I had at the time, it was Black with yellow strips and just a flat breast plate about 3 or 4 inches wide it had just been an odd set that the chap I bought a lot of my racing equipment off had got in a consignment from Australia. Zilco also had a factory in New Zealand which supposedly had a better reputation than the Aussie one but that’s just what I was told ! Cheers Dennis.

Evening Buzzer and crew

Well it’s been a busy weekend up ere I was to be found up a hillside in Wensleydale spreading muck and not on the M40, lots of ours on there going down to Acton and Hanworth.
Back to work tomorrow going down to Westbury then over to Bridgwater to load for back up north on Wednesday oh the joys…

Cheers Wrighty.

Wrighty good to here from you thought you had gone awol, so you been muckspreading have you, I spent today cleaning out the 60 x 30 cattle barn with my trusty Avant loader, it can lift about a ton and a quarter but can grab a fair chunk of manure, did about 12 loads and was impressed how that little machine pulled the muck out as it was a good 3ft deep and compacted, it is also very manouverable in tight spaces and once you get the hang of the joystick control its very quick as well. When I finished had to power wash her of as I don’t like dirty kit bit like our trucks once its in you one has to have to have it clean.
Got one load of muck to deliver to a gardener tomorrow and the vet at 10.30 to the hosses to do flu/tet jabs and file there teeth, do this once a year just to keep on top of things. Then go and get chicken feed and hos grub so all in all its going to be a payout day for sure, Buzzer.

That looks a reet handy machine Buzzer, could do wi one of them for Alice save her havin to muck out all those loose boxes by hand
Sat down at Westbury tipping cream should take 2 1/2 to 3hrs so should catch up on a bit of sleep, nice and sunny down ere was wet up at home this morning…

Cheers Wrighty.

Busy yesterday had my man come and mend a burst hydraulic pipe on the tractor loader first thing, then the vet to do horses teeth and annual jabs, then off to get hoss and chicken grub and then an hour picking beans and after tea check all cattle, driving out a pair today for a rest, cheers Buzzer.

Great Thread guys keep it up…Love the mixture of the farming and good to see snapper back in his temp role before moving on again. Its great to see a local company doing so well and esp since i spend a lot of time driven abroad seeing these trucks across the water too…

acceptme glad you like the input on here a veritable mix of trucks horses and farming and most seem to like it.
On another note while at the yard today it was Horry who told me about the Matthews driver who died while at work in Italy, personally I had them down as better than this and disregarding a fallen soldier is just not playing cricket. Don’t know the facts so wont comment too much but if what I have heard is true I feel sorry for the family of this driver, he did not choose where to die it is just not in there eye’s convenient to do it abroad but for pity sake they could have sorted the situation out to help the family to some degree not just leave it to them.
Beggars belief that they can treat an employee in this way and I just hope the other drivers there wake up and smell the coffee and realize just what a crap company they are employed by, Buzzer.

m.a.n rules:
plus I would say that your rig has 1 hp more than the car

hi buzzer, totally off thread but there is a thread on the pdf concerning a international driver who passed away whilst working in Italy and the way his company are handling the situation. i’m sure a lot of us would like your take on this considering you and your family’s vast experience in this line of transport.
I fully understand if you don’t want to comment but it might answer some questions.

regards berni

was you on the sauce last sunday buzzer

Going back some Gazzers motor with one of Yeardley’s, Globy’s back then were a bit of a sensation and we had two A reg one’s ex Brian Yeardley but they were RHD. The first ones we had also came with kitchen pack in between the seats which was handy, they were spirit ones but we converted to gas as much safer.
Bought the first new Globy in 86 but over the years we have had many new ones but alas no more. Buzzer.

PS. Yeardley’s have been going some years now, anyone know when they started out.

I did the same as you Buzzer , changed the stove to a camping gaz stove , mine was an ex Patricks one HNH 350Y , I had it a year before I realised the passengers seat swivelled round so you were facing the cooker ,in my case LHD
